Hot cider, pumpkin farms, crisp air, corn mazes, boots, and sweaters... these are a few of my favorite things about fall. Y'all know I'm a summer girl through and through, but I do get a tinge of excitement when I think about moving my summer wardrobe out of my closet and replacing it with fall fashions. We may be newly into the season, but I've already indulged in a few of my favorite fall loves. Last Saturday, I made my annual stop to load up on pumpkins at my Aunt Sandi's pumpkin farm.

With a little nip in the air, it was the perfect time for me to break out one of my new fall outfits from prAna. I've mentioned earlier this spring how much I LOVE prAna's clothing line, and the love is still going strong. This fall though, I decided to try something new and snapped up a top and jean's from prAna that are made with organic cotton.

My new organic cotton fall outfit from prAna includes: Frosene Top  in Bone and Oday Jean in Indigo.

So, why choose to wear clothing made from organic cotton? Here are 3 great reasons:

• People. Farmers and their families are no longer exposed to the harmful chemicals that are sprayed on non-organic cotton crops

• Soil. Regenerate life and biodiversity in the soil to improve our planet's health.

• Water. 115 gallons of water is saved when you switch one t-shirt to organic cotton.

Check out this video for a great visual aid on why prAna uses organic cotton in a lot of its apparel:

If you haven't tried wearing clothing made from organic cotton, I HIGHLY encourage you to do so. My top and jeans from prAna are the most comfortable pieces I own now. The Frosene top is lightweight, but cozy, and every time I put it on I feel like I'm wrapped in a soft hug.

The Oday jean is a skinny jean, but is super soft and has a fair amount of stretch, making them unbelievably comfortable. I have thick thighs and a trim waist, so it's always been challenge for me to find any jeans that fit just right, so I was really excited as soon as I pulled on the Oday jean and realized they were an absolute perfect fit.

So, are you ready to make the switch and #WearOrganicCotton this fall? If so, prAna has an amazing selection of tops and bottoms you need to check out. Their fall line is so cute, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. And, once you find your perfect fall pieces, you can save 15% off of your online purchase by using code WCTHF18. That's a win for the planet and a win for your wallet.

  1. OMG you found blue pumpkins! I'd buy only those this year if we had them as we sadly don't :( You must decorate the Palace of Mahonies with them this year and show us the photos :) I did buy me a regular little muscat pumpkin for soup today. Or I might put it in risotto tomorrow, depends in what condition I wake up tomorrow.
Love that baby blue colour! It is one of my faves as it is refined and elegant, looks lovely on you, the pullover looks almost like it is made of cashmere, I bet the cotton is very soft and lovely on your skin.
The freeze has arrived here this weekend with the Arctic cold from the North. We went from 32*C on Friday to 13*C today :) From my flipflops straight into my padded vest for today's shopping trip into the city.

    1. I didn't buy any of the blue pumpkins because they were all oval shaped and didn't sit straight up. I didn't want them looking messy on my porch or in my home. They were pretty though.
I haven't bought pumpkin for eating, though fall squash is hitting the shelves cheap. I grabbed a spaghetti squash yesterday to try a new casserole with.
It's been fairly warm here still. It's a bit nippy the day after a rain, but it shoots back up to warmer temps by the following day. We probably have a few more weeks of warmish weather before we have to fully retire our flip flops and tee shirts, though evenings are requiring jackets now.
I am a total fan of organic cotton after trying on this outfit. It's sooooo soft and cozy!

    2. Did you try squash in a casserole with macaroni? I sometimes stir fry some onion, carrots, parsley with a bit of diced squash, then ad a cup or two of boiling water, vegeta, celery leaves, pepper, and mix in instant pumpkin soup. When it thickens I ad some sour cream. Then I mix all with a package of cooked macaroni and an egg, pour everything into a casserole and bake it for half an hour. I do that with spinach too and spinach instant soup, and with shrooms as well.

    3. Yes, I have tried it with macaroni. I like the idea of mixing in some instant pumpkin soup. I haven't done that yet. Jason doesn't like the taste of cooked spinach, so I can only serve that raw :(

    4. Try mixing boiled and mashed spinach and garlic with a bit of mayo, he'd like that, I bet :) I like putting spinach on some pizza dough. Just a few defrosted pallets of spinach mixed with sour cream, an egg, vegeta and garlic, and I spread that over pizza dough and bake it.

    1. Fall is definitely in the air. I just moved all of our jackets to the front of the closet since we're using them more often these days.

  6. Sounds like that once you get them you don't want to go back. That is a ton of water saved indeed, wow. Knew you'd be getting pumpkins already, probably have the house decked out for Halloween too.

  7. I haven't, but I'd be willing to try it and consider a switch. Those benefits are undeniable. The outfit is cute! And so cool to have an aunt with a pumpkin patch. :)
