Summer is my favorite season because that's when we spend the most time together as a family. With the kids home from school, we don't have the sense of urgency to go, go, go like we do the rest of the year. We make more of an effort to just be together, whether it's participating in family game night, renting a movie and squishing together on on the couch, or my kid's favorite- spending time out on the deck around the fire pit.
There's something about being outdoors, sitting around the fire that makes my family set down their devices and just connect with each other. So many stories and laughs are shared during these times, it's no wonder why we enjoy it so much.
