On Wednesdays We Wear Pink- Or Something Like That... Pietro Nolita

On one of our New York days last summer, the girls were trolling around on Instagram trying to find some cool spots to check out. I think it was Mariah that piped up and said, "Welp. Found a place mom is going to have to visit." I'm just going to admit, I can be an F Bomb mom sometimes, so when she saw an Insta-post with someone holding up a cup with Pink As F*ck printed on it, she knew that was probably my kind of place. I mean, pink and F Bombs? Oh, we definitely goin'!

If you're into the Bubble Gum Pink, Malibu Barbie vibe, Pietro Nolita is the spot for you. This little underground bar and eatery is super cute and totally Instagrammable, worthy of a stop if you're going to be on or near Elizabeth St. in New York. We didn't stop in for food since we were going to be dining at Beetle House later that day, but we did order drinks, admittedly because I wanted a cup to take home which ended up being a pricey $30 coffee mug, but I'm not complaining too much since it was one of my favorite souvenirs from our trip. If you do go in for bite, the menu consists of tradition Italian eats. The dining area is quite small and seating is rather limited, so I'd suggest calling ahead to make reservations before going out.

We arrived shortly after opening, so there wasn't anyone seated yet. I did buy myself a pink lemonade and will say that I was a bit irritated that the only credit card they accept is American Express, so I had to dip into my extra spending cash for my drinks and coffee mug.

I can't attest to the food quality, but the pink lemonade was quite tasty and refreshing though, since it was so hot, half of New York blacked out that day. Pietro Nolita was definitely a fun, unplanned stop that I'm glad we made.

Do you like pink or is this just way too much pink in your face for your taste?

  1. For $30 they probably should've given you one of the tables too! I did not eff is the pink colour, how marvellous! And look at you finally wearing your Apple dress :)

    1. I've only worn that dress twice since buying it 4 years ago. I should put it on my niece this fall and do a photo shoot in the apple orchards. She'd fill the top out much better than me or Allison can LOL

  2. Great photo of you in front! I like pink, but I’m more of a purple girl. Who only takes American Express? Weird!

Way back in April 2010, I chaperoned my middle child’s choir trip to NYC. We had adventures like buying a Coach purse on the street and visiting Dash (the Kardashian store). Good times!

    1. I do love me purples and blues too! Especially on my nails. I don't think we came across Dash, but I do remember getting approached frequently in Chinatown to buy Coach handbags while walking down the street. New York really wasn't my cuppa tea, as I'm more of a Chicago girl, but I do want to go back around Christmas to see all of the window displays.

  4. Way to much pink! But what a fun spot for a visit. I like places that have themes, even if they make my eyes hurt. Lol. The last photo is awesome. And it sounds like pink lemonade was the perfect thing for the day. :-)

  6. Woweee. When you go pink, you really go pink. At least until you show up in red lol

Good when it is a fav souvenir, even if it was a tad pricey. Sometimes you just have to splurge.

  10. This is a bit much pink, even for me! I do love your dress though. :) I would be irritated by the American Express rule too. I mean, do people actually have Amex cards anymore?? lol

  11. I bet they had fun getting the pink deco ready (and are probably always adding to it). That is annoying that they only took Am.Ex. The dress is pretty!

You look so cute in the photo.

I hope my comments are coming from me. I’m signed into my google account, but it shows a faceless person. -Alissa
