School days are upon us once more, and I'm just going to admit that I am READY to send the kids back. It's been one long summer and this mama is tired! I know that a lot of your kids went back this week, but next Thursday is our official BTS day. I will miss our carefree summer days, but I think even the girls are ready to get back into more structured days. It's time to get those brains working again, so by the time they get home they need a healthy pick-me-up snack to recharge their batteries. That's where this Healthy After-School Snack idea from Golden Blossom Honey comes into play.

Banana Boat

This banana snack is one that most kids can toss together themselves, and is packed with lots of nutrition for refueling, making it the most perfect after-school snack for growing bodies and minds. I also want to point out that if you follow the SCD diet, all of the ingredients here are SCD legal, so not only is it good for kids, it's a great snack for those with tummy issues, like me.

Ingredients
1 banana, sliced
1 teaspoon nuts, chopped
1 teaspoon raisins or any dried fruit
1 teaspoon GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY

  1. I'm up for anything with bananas! I'd love to have a T-shirt with bananas too, seen it on 5 Minutes Tips over at Facebook on one of their actors :)
Kids here start school first September, August is too hot for classes especially as none of our schools is air conditioned.

    1. I eat a banana every single day. I used to mix it into my oats in the morning, but since I can't have them now, I mix a frozen one into my daily smoothie.

I missed the 5 minute banana craft shirt. The girls love those 5 minute crafts though and watch the videos all the time.

    2. Theresa, did Dez say he's "up" for anything with... bananas?

    3. That's what he said. Does that mean he has a dirty mind or we do?

    1. Sounds like you're right on schedule with us. I know some don't even go back until after Labor Day.

  3. Isaak would like this. Mica's not a big fan of bananas, so not for him. School starts for me on Monday, Isaak on Tuesday and Mica on Wednesday. They have the younger middle schoolers start a day earlier, so they can get used to the place before the big kids come in.

    1. I love that they let the smaller kids come in to settle in first! What a great idea! Our school doesn't do that, so the younger kids are always so nervous on their first day.
