Who's doing some baking this weekend? This girl, right here! I plan on knocking half of my cookie recipients off my list this weekend, and will wrap up the remainder of the family next Saturday when the girls are free to help. Since I'm tired of making the same cookies year after year, I browsed Golden Blossom Honey for a little inspiration and came across these Glazed Crescent Cookies that I thought would be pretty and festive, but most importantly, something new for my cookie gift boxes this year.

Glazed Crescent Cookies

When I first came across this recipe, I was thinking it was going to be like those kieflies that tend to be really popular this time of year. Those cookies can time consuming, and since I'm looking for something new but without a lot of work, I almost kept scrolling. Thankfully, I did a quick run through on the ingredients, realized that these weren't going to take too much effort on my part (though they do require more than just scooping the dough with a cookie scoop and plopping it on a baking sheet), and decided I'd do a test run last week.

Glazed Crescent Cookies

I wasn't quite sure on how I was supposed to shape these, but after a quick YouTube search, I learned you should roll the dough into a log shape, then use the back of a rounded tablespoon along one side to gently press the dough into an arch. It really wasn't as complicated as my mind was trying to make it out to be.

Glazed Crescent Cookies

A tip on glazing the cookies. This glaze dries pretty quickly, so I would suggest glazing one cookie top, then sprinkling with nuts immediately afterwards. If you wait too long, the glaze will have dried and your nuts won't stick. You could even keep these nut free for those with allergies, and maybe just dip the ends in chocolate which would be just as delicious and pretty too!

Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1/4 cup orange juice
2 Tablespoons cognac or orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Glaze:
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1/2 cup water
1 cup blanched almonds, chopped

    1. I know, I could have used a better choice of words there, but you'll just have to keep your mind out of the gutter.

You know how I love it when you mix blues with orange in your settings!
I do love the glazing element in these, otherwise I don't do dry cookies.
Your nuts won't stick... what a funny sentence.... the biggest predicament of the male species during this cold weather lol

    1. Leave it to the guys to talk about the sticky nuts. Jason hasn't complained about them since summer :P

I actually like dry cookies. I'm still going to do my sugar cookies this year and maybe those peanut butter balls too.

  12. The shape of these cookies is unique but it is the almonds and the orange flavor that makes it so delectable! I am saving this recipe and make some for New Years eve.

  13. There's nothing wrong with that, although giving in that manner reflects a limited reach for one's kindness and generosity. Or, worse, it could possibly reflect an underlying, often unconscious, selfish motive.https://www.teddyway.fr
