Trunk or Treat!

Last year I heard about this thing called Trunk or Treat in a blog post by my dear friend Renae at Simple Sequins. It sounded like some serious good fun, so I decided to look into seeing if our area had anything like that. Turns out, we did! Why I had never heard of it before is beyond me, but I've been super excited about going to it since I first heard of it! The deal is, cars line up (usually at the local churches), they decorate their trunks in Halloween themes, then pass out candy to the little TOT'ers!

Since the weather was calling for severe thunderstorms and possible tornado weather Halloween night, we tried to squeeze in as many Trunk or Treats as we could so the girls wouldn't be disappointed by missing out on trick or treating. We ended up going to 3! The first we went to was kind of a bore, with only about 10 cars passing out. But we soon stumbled on 2 more where they had free hot dogs, carnival food, bounce houses, and lots more fun!

We tried convincing Allison that this was her real mom so we could leave her behind, but she wasn't having it.

It did end of drizzling here all night, so we cut our Halloween short. However, we did go back out to TOT when a town about a half hour away rescheduled theirs for the day after Halloween. Overall, it was a successful Halloween. I am ready for next years now :)

Have you ever been to a Trunk or Treat?

  1. Our town does a trunk or treat at our town hall every year, but I never go because I bring my boys up to my parents to trick or treat there in my old stomping grounds. I hear the one in our town is awesome and the kids usually end up with tons of candy!

  6. Trunk or Treat sounds great! Last year our street got together and we set up a tent and handed out candy from one spot. A lot of fun just getting together.

  7. Our church always has it, but this year they did something different so we went to another church to do ours. It was indoors which was great since it rained all day and night. :)

Glad you had a good time w/your outings. :)
