Theresa's Mixed Nuts: This Is Halloween!

This Is Halloween!

Awwww, yeah! It's that time of year again! As much as I love Christmas, my favorite holiday of the year to decorate for is Halloween! Our Halloween decorations could rival most people's Christmas. We do the lights in the yard and all, so when you turn down own street it's like BAM! In your face! While we get a ton of compliments from the neighbors, I'm sure some of them grumble under their breath about the eyesore at the end of the street. But I love it, so up it goes each year. You can see those in the post I put up about them last year HERE. We've added a few more light up trees this year, and hopefully will have even more next year if we find them on clearance after the holiday.

We spent all day Saturday pulling out the decorations and getting them set up. This year Allison really got into helping decorate, so I let her do a lot of the indoor stuff, with just a little help from mom :)

And a very special yard display this year...

I've been thinking about it Pat. The truce is off.

Have you put your Halloween decorations up yet?

  2. Wow, you guys go ALL OUT for Halloween!!! I have no kids so the most we do is an electric pumpkin in the window all month and a glowing green solar powered cat on the front walk. Your decorations are impressive!

    1. Pfshhh! You know how kids are Ai! We've been through about 30 costume changes by now. I told them they have a week to narrow it down or they don't get one. I hate last minute planning!

  4. I haven't put mine up yet. I LOVE Halloween, too, but because we're going to Disney in a couple of weeks, my whole holiday is thrown off this year. Honestly, I don't even know if I will end up decorating because by the time we get back, there will only be a week left.

    1. We didn't do the Thanksgiving stuff last year because of that same reason. No point in pulling it all out when you can only enjoy it for a week.

I know you're sweet, really. And I like you tons. But I think you have a sick (not sick like the kids say it ;) ) streak in you (see cat picture above) and that's why you like Halloween so much. :)

buwahahha, I scrolled back up to laugh again. That's a doozie. Tweeting it. :)

    1. Oh, Rosey! You don't know the half of my twisted humor! I may look and act sugar and spice on here, but I've got a very morbid side lol. Or sick as you would call it ;) I think I shop at Hot Topic for myself more than I do my wanna be grunge daughter haha!

    1. Thanks Dezzy! I needed to love the blue because it took me 8 full days to paint them. We have very high ceilings and a lot of trim to cut into. I was only doing it once, then it was staying, love or hate.

  15. No, I have not. But I keep saying I will. I am the decorator in the family. HM is about stinging lights but I do everything else. His artistic eye is a bit too mechanical for my liking. LOL

  16. Way to go you guys! Looks so fun. Wish I was your neighbor. We would have the scariest houses on the block. I don't really decorate as we never have any kids come, with the exception on my kids friends (only cuz I begged them to come) We live in a rural setting and for some reason the kids like trick or treating in town. Perhaps the parents don't like driving on the gravel roads.

    1. I can imagine how we'd light up the hood if you and I were neighbors! I think it would be nice to have a partner in crime for the holidays, since we are pretty much the only ones who do decorate around here lol.

    1. I love the fall decorations too Lynn! I only get to keep my fall decorations up for such a short time since we go from Halloween to fall, then right after Thanksgiving, Christmas goes up. *sigh* I wish there were a few more weeks for keeping the fall stuff up!
