Leprechaun Trap

The girls and I decided we were going to try to trap a leprechaun this year. Mariah wants to go on vacation this summer, so she really wants some of that gold. Allison just wants to keep the leprechaun as a pet. I don't know how well that would work for her, but if we catch one, I'll let you know!

We decided to put our crafting skills to the test. We built our leprechaun trap with scraps we had laying around the house. We cut a little trap door in the floor of the box in front of the pot of gold and covered it with clovers so hopefully he will fall through it and get stuck. Then, since we all know leprechauns love shiny things, we glitter coated almost everything to attract him to our trap. Hopefully our plan works. If we actually catch him and hit it big, we will be sure to share the wealth. Wish us luck :)

  1. OMG, that's the neatest thing ever! I can't believe you came up with that. You definitely need to "Pin" it on Pinterest :) Actually, I think I'm going to pin it right now! hehehe

    1. Thanks, but I can't take all the credit for it. I remember reading about this in a parenting magazine a few years back, but never got around to doing it. They also had ideas for fairy huts for the springtime. You use tree bark to build the hut, then collect things like acorns and sticks (anything from nature really) and make her furniture for her stay. Sometimes she leaves presents behind for the kids. We haven't done that one yet, but I was thinking of doing it this year with them. Allison will get a kick out of it I think.

    2. Hey, you still put in all the work though and I'm sure you added your own little quirks to it ;) My kids would think this was hilarious lol.
