DIY Custom Mod Podge Necklaces

The summer boredom buster activity of the day is quite easy and inexpensive. I made a little necklace for Allison with one of her favorite One Direction band members pictures one day, and it suddenly became the hit of all the girls that saw it. I don’t know how many requests I got to make them one. Instead, I did what any crafty mama would do- went and bought the supplies and told them to make their own.

Supplies Needed:

Necklace Chain
Square Bales (I bought these and the chain at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price, so this whole thing cost less than $2.50 to make)
Mod Podge
Printed out picture of your choosing

Directions:

After you find the picture you want, resize it, print it out, then clip it down to the same shape and size of the bale.
Place a thin layer of Mod Podge on the bale, then cover with your picture.
Once it is dry, brush another layer of Mod Podge over the picture to seal it.
And there you have a custom necklace. Cheap, easy and something the kids will get a kick out of because it’s a one of a kind :)

On a side note, I am starting to think I should be getting a commission for all the One Direction mentions on here lol.

  3. Now this sounds like a GREAT project!! Although maybe we should do Big Time Rush since we're going to their show here in Sept. Unfortunately I'm the one who gets the most excited about all this stuff lol.

One little funny note ~ up until the other day I've been calling Mod Podge "Modge Podge". Autumn corrected me and said she didn't want to tell me at first, but she knew all along I was saying it wrong. And I'm not even going to go back to my blog posts and check how I spelled it in the past. No need to burden myself with more embarassment lol.

    Have a great weekend :)

    1. Oh, wow, I didn't realize that Big Time Rush was actually a touring band! I thought that was just a Nick show. Yeah, I would totally make a necklace before going. Those souvenirs are expensive there!

It's funny what our children will correct us on. Hey, as long as you sound cute saying Modge Podge, it's all good ;)

    1. How about you take Harry AND the other 4 boys and hoard them all to yourself? lol. That way she will stop obsessing over them. I am so tired of hearing 1D!
