I've found some tomatoes when I went downtown shopping last week (it is very unusual to find them in January) and they are as bland as a 'gertrude' :)
Hope your blackberry grows nice and tall! We had one planted last year too, but it is not mine, so I will be sticking to my raspberries if they don't die prematurely as almost every other year. The nurses stock lots of goodies for the chemo patients to munch on so maybe they'll bring in some chocolates this time.
I always feel so bad that we have these fruits and veggies in abundance this time of year and you do not. I wish I could share the bounty with you :( Of course, we pay through the nose for off season produce. Strawberries are expensive most of the winter, but with Valentine's Day approaching, we start seeing them marked down to summer prices. Blackberries have been very inexpensive lately too, so we've been using those a lot lately as well. I am wondering if my blackberry bushes will produce any fruit this year. I only planted them last year so they may be dormant this summer and will start to fruit next year. We'll see.
