Pop, Fizz, Clink. Those are celebrating words, right? Are we all ready to wave goodbye to 2017 and say hello to 2018? I sure am! I always look forward to the possibilities that a new year brings. I have so many wonderful things planned for next year, I can hardly wait for the countdown to begin. 2017 was pretty good to me, so I am looking forward to carrying my good health and fortune into next year. I already told you how we'll be spending NYE on a low-key level. A few snacks, a few board games, and hopefully a lot of laughs. Of course, the passing of a year can't be properly celebrated without a little bubbly, no? Instead of busting out the champagne glasses to sip said bubbly, I thought it would be fun to take a new approach and break out the bowls by trying this new recipe from Golden Blossom Honey- Strawberry Champagne Soup

Strawberry Champagne Soup

I've never been much of a drinker, so I thought this was a fun and tasty way for to enjoy a little champagne on New Year's Eve a little differently from the norm. It would be a delicious dessert for the adults, or you could turn it into a kid friendly snack by replacing the champagne with sparkling grape juice or plain apple juice. And, since it's only made with a few ingredients, it fits quite nicely with my low-key plans. #Winning!

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package frozen strawberries, thawed
1/2 cup champagne
2 Tablespoons RAW GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1/2 cup orange juice
3 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
plain yogurt and mint leaves for garnish

  3. You did such marvellous photos!
Not sure I'd eat it, but I wouldn't mind bathing in it like a proper king :)
Have fun on Sunday evening! I will do a Sunday post and then watch a film or something and then back to work on Monday. No shops will work on Monday and Tuesday here, so I will miss my shopping start of the week :( I just hope nobody throws a firecracker at my house this year. They upped the fines for throwing a firecracker massively, but there are tons more jerks than policemen and most of the cops throw firecrackers themselves, so I'm not optimistic.... I'd stick a firecracker up the ass of everyone who has them.

    1. What film will be ringing in the New Year with?
Our stores only close for Christmas, so I'll still be able to get my early week grocery shopping in. Sorry you'll have to fall behind on yours.
What do you mean people throw firecrackers at your house? That's nuts! Why would one do such a thing? We have a few neighbors who will light off the really big loud ones, but they are usually done and off to bed 15 minutes after the clock strikes midnight, so it's not a big production. Maybe you should sit on your porch and throw some back at them? Give them a taste of their own medicine.

    2. New Year is our biggest holiday, so nothing works for two days. They haven't even picked out garbage for three weeks now :) because garbage men come on Mondays and it was Christmas and now New Year.... happy garbagy new Year :)

Kids are uncaught here, they will throw a firecracker everywhere not caring if it hurts someone. I imagine most dogs are scared shitless around here. Some kids even ended up without fingers and eyes and still they buy them and sell them and throw them around. The city centre is usually covered with green pieces of carton from firecrackers on the morning of January 1st. We have a public concert sponsored by the city in our city square with some of the popular singers and thousands gather there to celebrate if they don't have money to go to a restaurant. I'd rather they give that money to poor people and hungry kids, especially as it is city's money gathered from taxes.

  8. I don't love Champagne but I like honey, strawberries and everything else in this. Wondering if I could substitute the champagne part and still have it be good?
