Take Paw-sitive Steps in Pet Care with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance® #gohealthypaws

Disclosure- The Healthy Paws® information, product, and gift card have been provided by Healthy Paws Pet Insurance®. All opinions expressed here are my own.

For most of my life, I have owned a pet. I love animals and just can't imagine not having a little furry critter running around my home. I've featured my boxers on here many times over the years, so long-time readers know that I don't just consider them "pets", they are definitely a part of my family. They are my little babies, and just like with real babies, there is a lot of maintenance and expense involved in raising them.

Food, treats, toys, grooming, vet bills. It all adds up. Especially those vet bills! I was just going through all of my paperwork from the time we brought the dogs home as puppies and was kind of floored at how much money we've spent on medical care for our dogs over the past five years. Aside from routine visits, we've had several unexpected emergency trips to the vet that really hit us in the pocketbook, and like with most emergencies, getting hit with huge veterinarian bills at those times just wasn't ideal for us.

Like the time one of the dogs had to have eye surgery. Bam! We were hit with an $800 bill. Then, as the incision was healing, one of the stitches tore. Of course it was late at night, so we had to make a trip to the emergency vet clinic to have that same eye stitched back up. The cost for the repair? $187!

Having spent almost $1,000 on emergency vet services in such a short amount of time, it really would have been beneficial for us to have opted for pet insurance to help with those unexpected medical bills. Back then, I never even knew that you could get insurance for your pets, but now that it has been brought to my attention, we are quite intrigued. We insure ourselves and our family members to cover our medical needs, why not our pets as well? I recently came across Healthy Paws Pet Insurance® and have been educating myself on all of the benefits of medical insurance for our dogs.

Many human-healthcare techniques are becoming available for pet family members, but these medical advancements are expensive. You can avoid unexpected costly vet bills and protect your budget with pet insurance. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance® is the #1 customer rated pet insurance, and is there when you need them most, covering up to 90% of vet bills*, so you can focus on giving your pet the best care without having to worry about the cost.

While only 1% of people have health insurance for their pets, it is the fastest growing voluntary employee benefit. If you would like to learn about all of the benefits of acquiring health insurance for your pet, you can get a free quote on the Healthy Paws Pet Insurance® website. And, with every free quote, Healthy Paw® contributes funds to the medical care of homeless pets. How amazing is that!? Additionally, through the Refer-A-Friend program, participants can earn $35 for every friend that enrolls in Healthy Paws®.

*Pet insurance does not cover the cost of wellness care, such as checkups, regular vaccines, flea and tick or heart worm preventative, pre-existing conditions, or any condition not related to an unexpected injury or illness.

I was just thinking how I buy salami and pate for my cats whilst not buying them for myself LOL And mind you, my cats aren't a fondly type, it is not like they return the love :) But I still do it... even though I know them two wouldn't pull me out of the house if it was burning...

    1. I think my dogs eat better than we do most times too. I always said that if an intruder comes in, they are going to jump up and down while barking "Welcome! Welcome!" At least mine are friendly ;)

  3. haha looks rather miffed in the 3rd pic. Pet insurance can be good indeed. But like any insurance it can cost more than you use it, a crap shoot really.

  5. I've always been allergic to all things furry. I grew up with a Pit bull and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from when I was a baby to when I was 5. I have good memories with them. They'd take me on sled rides, I'd sleep on their bellies when hot sun beamed in from the window. My Dad had to get rid of them because of my allergies. I kept getting sick all the time. So much for having pets to help prevent allergies. I guess sometimes genetics wins.

Your doggie is so cute! I love the fall photos. I just want to pet your doggie! Such good leaf pictures.
