Happy November! Halloween is over, parents have sneakily collected their candy taxes and the weather is cooling down. While you may be planning trips to escape the cold this year, you still need to make sure your heater is in good, working order! Most heating systems, such as a hot water heater or a furnace, should last around 20 years, give or take a few. However, that only happens if they are repaired as needed and maintained regularly.
If you are in an area where the temperatures drop below zero, you know how important it is to stay warm! You can gather all of your blankets, portable heaters and “hot hands” packs but you will still need a working heating system in case those other items just don’t cut it. I have two daughters, and their safety is my top priority. Their health ties in to that, and that includes keeping them warm and making sure their body temperatures stay regulated.
We really enjoy movie marathons during the holidays, so staying cozy and comfortable is a must. If your family is the same way, make sure you know what is going on with your heating system. Do you have it checked regularly to see if it needs any repairs or a quick tune-up? The smallest problem with a furnace can turn into the most expensive problem you run across all year if you do not get it fixed! An annual furnace inspection will save your system, it will save you money and it will also save you energy! A furnace that is not at it’s full working potential will need to use more energy in order to work efficiently. Think of your furnace like a car; if you ignore it, a lot more could go wrong at the most inconvenient of times.
When was the last time you had your furnace or heating system checked? The coldest part of the year is quickly approaching. Call your local HVAC Company today and schedule a home visit! You never know, this visit can save you lots of money and keep you healthy and safe! We want everyone’s health to last as long as his or her furnaces – here’s to another 20 years!
