My Top 5 Workout Essentials

If you've been around here a while, you know that I take physical fitness very seriously. I make every effort to work out 4 days a week. Twice a week I go to dance classes and work out in my gym, the other two days a week I exercise from home. Working up a good sweat is excellent for the mind, body and soul, so I stick with my routine as strictly as possible to maintain a sense of overall well-being. Today I want to share with you my top 5 workout essentials that help me stay motivated on my journey to being as physically fit as I can possibly be.


1- Comfortable Shoes. It is so important to have comfortable shoes that offer maximum support. Anything less will have you cutting your workout short. Invest in a good pair of workout shoes to use only during your fitness routines.

2- Free Weights. Not only are they a versatile workout tool, they are fabulous for building muscle tone and stronger bones.

3- Good Earbuds. I have to listen to music when I exercise, and a quality set of earbuds is a must. Not only do cheap earbuds sound crummy, they fall out of your ears often. You don't want to spend more time refitting your earbuds than you do exercising!

4- Water. Keeping hydrated is essential during any fitness routine. You don't want to get dizzy or faint due to lack of hydration. Always keep water on hand when working out.

  1. what does chai taste like? Pumpkin seeds are so good for you! I try to put some of it with flax and sunflower every day on my morning piece of rye bread with some vitamin enriched margarine and tomatoes.

  2. Earbuds are everything for me. I have a hard time finding ones that fit my small ears, so when I find ones I like, I go back and buy about 10 more pairs.

    1. I think the Lemon Poppy Seed and the Cinnamon Pecan are sweet. The Chai has a touch of sweetness, but not overpowering.

  8. I don't work out as much as I used to but whenever I do I always make sure I have a snack handy for afterwards and water or gatorade. Can't go anywhere without those.

  12. An excellent sports bra (or in general, great sports attire) is essential for me. Having water on hand is also imperative (and a snack for after!)
