NO-AD & Ocean Potion Are Getting Me Summer Weather Ready!

*Disclosure- I received the mentioned product courtesy of the sponsor for the purpose of this review. All opinions are genuine, based on my experience with the product, and have not been influenced by promotional items.

Summer has always been my favorite season. Warm weather, beaches and bbq's- what's not to love? In the summer, I try to get outdoors as much as possible, and staying out of the sun's rays is a top concern of mine. I've had a lot of "suspicious" spots removed from my dermatologist, and folks, it isn't pretty. On top of premature wrinkling, I take every precaution I can to stay sun safe while enjoying the great outdoors this time of year.

We have a lot of outdoor travel and activities planned this summer, and sunblock is always the first item we pack. While I've been a fan of NO-AD sun care products for some time, I was recently introduced to NO-AD Sport Body & Face Sunscreen Stick.

NO AD Sunscreen

NO-AD Sport Body & Face Sunscreen Stick 1.5 oz. MSRP $6.99 Convenient wide-format stick keeps hands clean and ready for any sport or outdoor activity. Ultra-lightweight formula goes on clear with no white mess. Great for the body, yet gentle and light enough for the face. Fragrance-free, nonirritating formula is great for sensitive skin. Same quantity as national brands for a value price.

While it works great on face and body, I found it a little time consuming to apply to my whole body. However, I thought it was perfect to swipe over my face or do little touch ups here and there, as needed. It didn't feel greasy or sticky, which was a huge plus!

Since I do not go out into the sun and tan, I am whiter than packed snow when summer rolls around. I rely on sunless tanners to help me get a summer glow, without heading into the sun's rays. As most of us that have tried them before know, sunless tanners can be tricky to work with. Some leave you looking like an Oompa Loompa, all orange and gross, or leave you streaky and blotchy. Finding a good sunless tanner can be a real challenge! I just tried the Ocean Potion EverGlow Xtreme Self Tanning Lotion. It promises to give a nice, glowing tan in just 3 days.

Ocean Potion Sunless Tanner

Ocean Potion EverGlow Xtreme Self Tanning Lotion. 8.5 oz MSRP $5.49 Moisturizing lotion creates glowing, natural looking color while avoiding the harmful rays of the sun. Subtle color begins to develop within hours. Reapply daily until desired depth of color is reached with full color achieved in only three days. For all skin tones. Coconut and sunflower oils offer rich moisturization. Cocoa and shea butter deliver deep hydration. Vitamins A, C and E help keep skin feeling soft, smooth and looking summer beautiful no matter what time of year. Aloe vera reduces inflammation. Fresh, pleasant mango-lime scent ‹ unlike other self-tanners with unpleasant odors.

I applied the tanning lotion to my legs after showering in the morning, then again 8 hours later. The next morning, I was already quite pleased with the tanning glow I had going on! No steaks, no orange tinted skin. The product worked beautifully! It went on smooth, dried quick, and smells great!

NO-AD Sport Body & Face Sunscreen Stick and Ocean Potion EverGlow Extreme Self Tanning Lotion are available at Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Kroger, Publix, Winn-Dixie, HEB, BI-LO, www.wal-mart.com, www.drugstore.com, and other retail and online stores throughout the USA.

What are some of the ways you stay sun safe during the summer?

  3. I've never used this before. Usually I put on baby sunblock. I'm so fair, and burn easily. It's too bad I didn't get my Grandpa's skin. He's so dark.

  5. Very reasonably priced plus really functional. I like the face stick! It would be great for my kids. It's hard to carry liquid lotion safely in my purse, this would be great for touch ups. The self-tanner is a wonderful idea too. All the tan with zero of the sun exposure!

    1. I agree--some sun is needed --that is where the Vitamin D comes from--if you don't get it from the sun then prepare to take supplements! By the way you don't need too much sun--maybe 5 min a day

  10. For some reason as I aged my skin tends to stay tan year round--all except my legs!! Just driving around in the car seems to keep that tan up. According to my doctor I do not need extra Vitamin D so I guess I am getting enough from the sun. I am going to be looking into this sunscreen because my legs should probably be slathered in it!

  15. That is a really cool idea. I need something like this for our sunblock needs. We go to the pool every day and it takes forever to cover ourselves with lotion.

  17. We're heading to FL this summer so having this would be great. Loving the stick option instead of the lotion or sprays.

  18. The sunscreen stick would be so much less messy than the liquid stuff I use. I am going to look for this.
