Before I started blogging, I think I lived under a rock. It wasn't until I started reading other blogs that I learned about all of the nasty things that are living inside our bodies that make us ill. I learned so much from Terry over at My Journey with Candida. Things like parasites and worms, and even candida that affect our gastrointestinal health. Since I have ulcerative colitis, I was pretty intrigued by all I learned. Keeping my GI Tract in tip top shape is of utmost importance to me, and while I have managed to keep my illness in remission for several years, there's always room for improvement when it comes to keeping your gut healthy. I did my first parasite cleanse last September, and by the end of the 28 days, I felt a world of difference in my overall well-being. Recently, I could tell I've been due for another cleanse because chronic fatigue and irritability had been kicking in. I decided to do a candida cleanse this time around, and Natural Goal was nice enough to send me a bottle of their Ultimate Candida Complex to try.
Candida is a fungus, which is a form of yeast, and a small amount lives in your mouth and intestines. Having small amounts is normal, as it helps to aid digestion and nutrient absorption. However, when it is overproduced, candida breaks down the wall of the intestine, penetrates the bloodstream, and releases toxic byproducts into the body, which leads to digestive issues.
Eating a diet high in sugar or refined carbohydrates, consuming alcohol, taking oral contraceptives, high-stress levels, and antibiotics that kill off good bacteria can lead to overpopulated candida.
Symptoms of too much candida include skin and nail infections, chronic fatigue, digestive issues (bloating, constipation, diarrhea), bladder infections, irritability and mood swings, itchy ears, thrush, and strong cravings for sugar or carbohydrates.
I am usually pretty good about my food choices, but I do have a weakness for bread and pasta, which I am sure does nothing good for candida build-up in the system. I started taking 2 Candida Complex capsules twice daily a month ago. Like my last parasite cleanse, I started feeling the effects of the "die off" process almost immediately. The supplements were killing off the bad in my gut, which releases toxins into the body. This is quite normal, but for me, it causes headaches. As bothersome as the headaches are, I don't mind them because then I know the product is working.
It did take about a week for the headaches to subside, and I started to feel more energy after about 2 weeks. Even though I get stomach cramps occasionally from my ulcerative colitis, I did notice fewer cramps after eating and my belly started to feel a little less bloated. I noticed my cravings for starchy foods has diminished as well. What I like about the Ultimate Candida Complex is:
• It promotes the growth of healthy bacteria
• It improves immune health
• Safe and Effective- made with natural ingredients
• Capsules are easy to swallow and don't have any gross aftertaste
• Made in the USA
I am very pleased with the results that I have received from using this product and will definitely use it again in the future.
Natural Goal Ultimate Candida Complex can be purchased on Amazon for $22.95.
