Recycle Those Period Pads! Stay Fresh, Dry & Confident With Poise #RecycleYourPeriodPad

"Aaachoo! OMG, I think I just peed on myself!" Yeah, that was said on a car ride with my husband a few years back. Hysterical laughing from the husband followed, which was met by evil glare from me. Anyone who has experienced it before knows that Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) is no laughing matter. 1 in 3 women experience LBL, little leaks that can occur from sneezing, laughing, coughing and exercise. There's no single reason why it happens, but many factors contribute to those mildly embarrassing moments:

• Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
• Being overweight
• Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson's disease
• Bladder or urinary tract infections
• Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)
For years women have suffered in silence, grabbing a bulky period pad to try to stay fresh and dry from LBL. But now there is good news, ladies! Poise® has designed an amazing product just for the 1 in 3 of us who have LBL!

New Poise® Thin-Shaped Pads are specifically designed for LBL! They are 40% thinner than original Poise® and are made specifically for bladder leaks. Not only do they move with your body, they feature a Super Absorbent material and a Thin-Flex design for extraordinary protection that is 3x drier than period pads, so you can take care of leaks with confidence.

Even though I am saying goodbye to period pads for LBL, we don't waste a thing around here. Poise® is challenging you to #RecycleYourPeriod pad into something useful or crafty, and I plan to stash mine where we have hard flooring in our home. Since period pads are bulky and absorbent, they are great for mopping up small spills. Just place the sticky back on your shoes and give the floor a quick cleaning!

  1. Honestly I don't know whether to like those shoes of yours or not, sweet sister, I'm torn :) At one moment I like them, and then I don't, and then I do... are those house shoes?

    1. I go back and forth on them all the time. Usually only break them out when I need "mom" shoes to go with my skinny jeans. My other flats were sparkly zebra print, and I didn't think those would be very mom-like for a blog post lol.

  2. LOL, that's one way to use them :) I don't have bladder leakage at all and I think I am one of a very small group of moms who can say that.

    1. I had it for a short time after each girl was born. My mom never really recovered from birthing 4 of us, so these are so perfect for her.

  3. That's funny. I actually wanted to try the cloth pads just for days when I think I might get my period - light days.

  8. When I gave up eating sugar and started eating healthy, I cured my LBL. But, I may one day need something and the thinner the better.

  10. I'll have to keep the unused pads on hand for emergency kitchen spills. I can imagine they work really well on the bottoms of shoes!

  11. I've never thought of using them for spills. In a movie we saw the other day, a woman used a period pad on someone's open wound! That was pretty creative.
