Theresa's Mixed Nuts: Little Randoms

Little Randoms

You know when you have a bunch of things you want to share, but individually, they don't make for a great post? A lot has been happening here, so I'll take today's blog post and combine some of my little randoms together for a quick update on what's happening in my neck of the woods.

First and foremost, the laundry room is almost complete. Yay! Just a few minor paint touch ups and some caulking and it's done, done, done! I should have photos to share next week. To celebrate, Jason bought me a little knick knack to put in the room. Since it's primarily my room, I plan on trashing it up with all of my collected kitsch, so this will fit in nicely.

Allison started track last month. The school staff has always called her Zoom because she's zipping all over the playground every day. I was sad when she dropped out of gymnastics because she was pretty good at it, but I think track suits her better and she seems happier after the track practices than she did in gymnastics.

We just found out Mariah is leading the entire Sophomore class grade wise. She's taking all advanced placement classes too, so we are extremely proud that she's doing so well with her education.

We just went to March Madness for my niece and nephew's basketball and cheer leading games. I think I could watch smaller kids play basketball over adults any day of the week. They are always so entertaining, especially when they unknowingly break the rules!

I've started a new cleanse, and it's given me such a headache this past week. So, if you've wondered why I haven't been updating as much around here, or making my usual blog rounds, I've been resting a lot. It's finally dying down now, so we should be back to normal here shortly. Hurray!

What's new in your world lately?

    1. Sure! As long as you are the one doing the washing, have at it :)

  2. Why has the cleanse given you such a headache? It is what you're drinking or just the lack of nutrients?

    1. my guess is - what she's drinking :)

    2. It's because of the junk it's killing off and flushing out of my system. It's perfectly normal to get headaches when doing a cleanse. Terry at Candida Journey still gets them and she's been doing cleanses for years!

    3. I had different drinking in mind :))
Joking aside, most people get headaches even from drinking a glass of beet juice or something mildly cleansing as that. It is because the body isn't used to it. I don't have the problem because I'm a vegetarian.

  3. Yard work...tons of yard work over here. Today it's raining so I'll take a break. Nice to be out and about though. :) Glad your headache is subsiding. Big high five to Mariah for topping the class, woot!

  4. I've been thinking about putting Isaak in basketball. He seems to have an interest in it. He plays it at recess every day.

Yay to the grades! It's so nice to know they try, and you know you're doing something right as a parent to get them there.

Yay on the laundry room. I bet you're glad that project is coming to an end soon!

  10. That little snoopy figurine is adorable and perfect for a laundry room. I've been trying to catch up but have been really tired lately--other then that not much new here at all.

    1. I think it's the season change. I get really tired during season changes too. One day cold, one day warm. It really messes with the system, I think.

  11. Sounds like you are having a busy time these days! My two boys aren't school age yet, but I look forward to running them around to all their extracurriculars and sports stuff. Though, in 10 years, I may be a bit tired of it all!

    1. It sure keeps you on your toes! But it sure is fun watching them play sports with their teammates, it's worth the exhaustion :)

  17. That's so awesome for both of your girls! Hopefully you'll get to feeling better soon. I've never done a cleanse and honestly, it sounds miserable. lol

    1. Your schedule sounds way busier than mine! They say toddlers keep you on your toes, but I think the older they get, and more activities they do, that's when the real parenting challenges kick in!

  22. I am so excited to see your basement Theresa. That is so awesome that Mariah is doing so well....or should I say Dr. Mariah!!! And Allison in track is pretty sweet too! Maybe she will be the next Olympic gold medal winner. It scares me to do a cleanse as I am prone to migraines......think I will just stick to my smoothies!

    1. Mariah is so excited to be called Dr.! lol! And, Allison sure is full of herself when it comes to track. If you ask her, she's already won the Olympic gold ;)

I wouldn't suggest doing a cleanse if you already get migraines. The headaches I get usually last 7 days, and I can't imagine having a migraine type headache for that long. Smoothies sound just fine to me!
