Borghese Beauty Line Will Have You Red Carpet Ready! #BorgheseBeauty #RedCarpetReady

*Disclosure- I received a surprise pack of beauty product from Borghese. I was not obligated to write a review, but I love their beauty products so much, I wanted to share how fabulous they are with you! This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my policy tab for more information.

Did you watch the Oscars last night? I'll admit, I didn't. I don't really get into the award shows. What I do though, is scour all of the photos of the stars on the red carpet the next morning. I never went to my high school prom, and I had a shotgun courthouse wedding, so having the chance to play dress up has eluded me my whole life. So, for me, there is something magical about seeing all of the celebrities looking gorgeous, dressed in the best fashions, jewelry and makeup.

While I may not have had the chance to get gussied up myself, I do love to play with makeup! I was recently surprised with an amazing assortment of cosmetics from Borghese.

Borghese

I love to change up my make up look, so I tend to go for eye shadow palettes. It's a great way to mix and match shadows to create a new look every day. For my every day look, I like earth tones, and the BorgheseEclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette has every color I need to keep a fresh, natural appearance.

Borghese palette

When I am going to an event like a wedding or baby shower, I think the Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse 5 Shades of Torrid has nice, peachy colors that give a soft, glowing look. When I want to go a bit more dramatic, like on date night with Jason, I'd go with Borghese Color Eclipse Eclissare 5 Shades of Sultry. It has every color needed to get a sexy, smokey eye. Round off the look with  Borghese liquid liner.

Borghese eye shadow

I have tried many shadow palettes over the years, from drugstore brands to department store shadows, and can honestly say that the Borghese shadows are by far my favorite! They glide on smooth and even. I can wear them all day without fading or crease build-up. The palettes have a magnetic closure, so you don't have to worry about the case popping open, causing the shadow to break and get all over your bag. The liquid liner is easy to apply. With the precision tip, it's simple to put it on exactly where I want it to go, and it doesn't take much pressure to get the liner to adhere to the lash line.

I don't normally wear color on my lips, but I do love a good gloss every now and again. I really like the Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss. There are 9 beautiful shades to choose from, so I can go from barely there color, to va-va-voom, depending on where I am going. It also glides on smooth, and doesn't feel goopy or sticky. It is long wearing, so you don't need to reapply often.

  1. I like neutrals and earth tones so these look like great colors to me and so many choices. I'm more of a natural girl and believe less is more, especially as you get older.

    1. Admit it, Pat. I'm sure you've played with makeup a time or two ;)

  3. I actually don't wear makeup. Usually when someone asks me about it, I just tell them that I am naturally beautiful. HA!

    1. It's true, Robin ;) Mariah doesn't wear it either, and says the same thing lol

  4. I love the natural look. One lady at work thought I wore no makeup at all. Not true. I do. It just isn't plastered on with a spatula - as my husband calls people that wear too much makeup.

    1. This reminds me of a lady I used to work with. We were phone operators at a department store. When I would come to relieve her of her shift, I would pick up the phone and her makeup would be caked on it. It was so gross, I had to start bringing disinfecting wipes to clean the phone with before I could use it! Less is definitely more!

  5. I like earth tones, but sometimes I go girlie loud (pinks, peaches...). Smiles.

  6. Maybe you should organize a dress up party for one of your and Jason's anniversaries? And finally glam yourself up? :)

    1. Since we only had 5 people at our wedding at the courthouse, we've had people ask us to do a vow renewal on our 15th anniversary. The money spent into throwing a party for that, I'd just rather have him whisk me off to Hawaii instead ;)

  7. I also like a more natural look! But make-up can be fun when you want to glam it up for a night out!

  8. Those are lovely colors. I always opt for earthy tones. I think they look so much more natural. I'm not a candy apple red lipstick kind of girl.

    1. I agree. I love the natural colors. I have dark hair so these tend to work well for me. Super red lipstick makes me feel like Bozo the clown.

  10. Just hand over that gray eyeshadow palette and add a white shadow and I will be set for life! Okay--so a black eyeliner, some black mascara --a peach tinted blush and some kind of lip gloss--enough!! I don't wear makeup often anymore but that is what I would wear if and when I do.

  12. It looks like the palettes have all the colors to get a gorgeous look! I love a natural look, but smokey eyes are nice for the right occasion.

  13. I didn't watch the Oscars. I used to years ago, but I think they get pretty boring. I am in need of some new makeup and love all the different tones and colors you received.

  16. I love palettes lately. Being able to switch it up and layer colors on is my new favorite.

  17. From a guy's perspective, I like the more natural look on women. For example, red lipstick might be "classic" but I think it looks awful 90% of the time on any woman.

Though I love when women wear eye shadow.

  18. These colors you chose are my colors, except for the lipstick. I love brown eye shadows.

  19. Looks like a great color palette. I think they would look great on me

  20. I like the neutral colors better than any other kind. When blue made it's brief appearance and my daughter tried it, I was very quietly cringing. Thankfully it passed very quickly. ;)

  26. I love the brown eyeshadow pallet. Those totally look like shades I would choose!

  27. I had a great time watching the Oscars with my daughter this year. I think next year I'd like to turn it into a mom-daughter glamour day. She's still young, so we'll go more natural.

  28. I didn't watch the oscars either. I was busy watching Battlestar Galactica for the umteenth time. I am obsessed with that damn show. I do enjoy watching the fallout from the party though. Although some of the fashion reporters are just plain mean. I guess that's the price you gotta pay to be famous.

  29. I've been curious about this brand. The color palettes look beautiful - love the flecks of shimmer in both the shadows and glosses.

  30. I love all of those tones. I don't wear a lot of makeup when I do wear it. Since I work from home, its not often. I am not real outgoing with my make up. At almost 40 years old, I still have no idea how to handle eye shadow. So, I stick to the basics.

  31. I just love these colors! So warm and perfect for this weather!

  32. I like the brown eyeshadows. Nice color

  33. That's nice of you to review the product for them anyway :)

  34. Actually, that's a very tasteful palate. I have reached an age (I'm over 18) where colors like blue and purple have no place on my face.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I prefer a natural look. I really like that palate!

  36. I tend to go with the more natural look but can be dramatic if I need it to.

  37. I'm salivating over that set. I want it so bad. It would have been perfect yesterday when I tried on ,y first red lipstick and ended up doing up my entire face just to sit at my computer. LOL

  38. I don't wear makeup but my daughter does and I think she would enjoy using this. Thank you.

  39. I love a dramatic look and love the colors in those palettes! I sometimes use the natural tones but do it darker and add a color in to pop it.
