JP Wedding #TBT

Jason and I just celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary on Monday, so I thought I'd do a Throwback Thursday of one of our wedding pics. I might have shared this story before, but here's a repeat for the older followers. Nothing about our wedding was traditional. It was spur of the moment, resulting from me calling Jason at work saying "Hey, the Justice of the Peace can marry us today." A few hours later, with only our mothers and my grandma in attendance, we were officially married. I was a few months pregnant with Allison at the time, and already going deathly pale, haha! While it wasn't the big, splashy wedding my entire family had envisioned for us, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have changed a thing :)

Are you the more traditional wedding type, or would you do a quickie wedding too?

Shaking It At The Zumba Party!

I love working out, but this past year Zumba has been my exercise of choice, and I try to go 3 days a week. Mariah loves going with me too, but there is only 1 family class a week at our community center that she can attend with me until she turns 15. Last month I heard that 2 of my instructors were hosting a Zumba party this past Saturday to help restock our local food pantry. For 5 food items donated, you got into the party for free. And kids could come too! Sounded like a deal to me! So, I immediately took to asking my family and friends if they would like to come with us, and got no bites! I am now realizing that I have a bunch of lazy people in my circle of family and friends. No matter, because Mariah was excited to go. Allison, on the other hand, had to be bribed with the treats the vendors were offering at the event.

Which were way overpriced, but whatever keeps them happy, right?

The party was 3 hours long. We lasted an hour and a half before calling it quits.

Allison wasn't thrilled I was taking pics, and decided to retaliate and sneak some pictures of us shaking it on the floor.

Since we donated more food items than requested for entry to the party, we were entered into a raffle. We ended up winning a $50 gift card to one of the cosmetics vendors! I'd say the party was a success!

Do you like to Zumba? If not, what do you like to do for fitness?

Crybaby #TBT

Mariah was making fun of this old picture of her and Allison on Twitter the other day. She thought it was soooo funny that she was laughing as Allison was having a crying jag when they were little.

Think she will find it funny when I show her this picture of HER having the same fit with her cousin laughing at her when she was little?

Did you have a lot of sibling rivalry in your family?

SOL REPUBLIC For Dads Who Rock! {Giveaway}

As much as I hate to admit it, my husband can run circles around me. If he doesn't have million projects in the works, he isn't happy. Just last week I was miffed at a delivery truck blocking our street. Little did I know it was a delivery for us! Haha! My husband's first project of the summer is tearing down our old chain link fence so he can replace it with a wood one. When he gets a new project in mind, he runs with it. He built our girls a new play set in the yard a few years back all by himself:

There's always a new idea brewing in his mind on what he wants to take on next. When he isn't busy with our projects, he is tackling projects for others, like spending Mother's Day hanging shutters on my mom's windows.

My husband ROCKS! And with Father's Day right around the corner, I want to show him how much he is appreciated for all he does for us. But what do you get a dad who rocks? SOL REPUBLIC Relays!
