Summer Break Sweets!

To celebrate the first day of summer vacation, we decided to treat ourselves to some carnival treats. Our local fairs don't start until the end of July, and we didn't want to wait that long for sno-cones and elephant ears. They were tasty!

How are you celebrating the summer break?

  2. Those look delicious, but I am not sure if they are what we call fried dough around here (I think it is). We don't get out until the 24th :(

    1. I'm sure that's probably the same. It is just fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I guess calling them elephant ears is more appealing around my neck of the woods lol.

    1. What!? Mr. Sweet Tooth doesn't know what an elephant ear is!? I am shocked! lol

No, it doesn't have powdered sugar on it. Just regular sugar and cinnamon. Funnel cakes have the powdered sugar, but sadly this shop didn't have those. I really wanted one too!

  6. How fun! Your girls look so pretty! I tried filling our summer with day camps as much as possible. We go on vacay soon, so if you don't hear from me that's why. I'll get back to everyone though.

  10. They make those elephant ears so huge don't they?? I'm always surprised when the kids eat them, and they have been eating them since they were little (Cedar Point). My 2nd and 3rd kids don't think an amusement trip is an amusement trip w/o an Elephant Ear.

    1. I can't go to a carnival without getting one. It's sinful if you leave without getting an elephant ear!

  16. Now that we don't eat or drink artificial dyes, fairs will not be the same for us anymore. :( We are planning on making snow cones with juice later in the summer, though, and we do juice popsicles as well so Elliott isn't missing as much.
