Roofsit 2014

Every year I like to take my girls to a local charity event put on by one of our radio stations. It's called Roofsit, and the money raised throughout the week goes to various programs in our community to raise awareness for the prevention of child abuse. I wrote a post about why this cause is so dear to me in the past. You can read it here.

Every day for a week they do different activities to get the community to come out to participate and raise money. Cornhole tournaments, trivia night, and kids day are some of the fun ways people can help.

I took the girls to kids day last Wednesday. While it wasn't as big as previous years, the girls still had a blast! The activities they enjoyed participating in:

Face Painting...

Games they played for prizes. Large companies like Pepsi and Gatorade donate the prizes.

A little petting zoo.

Free Ice Cream Treats!

And for only $1, you could enjoy a hot dog lunch, which consisted of a hot dog, soda, cookies, and a muffin. Serious bargain lunch right there!

Followed up with a photo in front of the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile, it was a great day to have fun while supporting a very worthy cause!

What is your favorite carnival type game? Have you seen the Weinermobile lately?

  1. You know, I have never seen the Weinermobile! I know it's out there and it has probably been in Boston, but I have never seen it. That sounds like a fun day!

    1. Hey, now! I asked her if she wanted to pose with the hot dog and she said yes. So if she is embarrassed in a decade, that's on her. There were actually 2 other props and her sister and friend refused, but she jumped right in lol.

I haven't seen the mobile for about 6 years or so. It was at the Ford Museum once when we went to visit. :)

  11. $1 for that set meal is a real steal! I love how your kids love spending time with you and going places. I sometimes fear when Lil Pumpkin gets older, she'd not like to be around mummy much :P

    1. I wouldn't count on that Ai. I think Lil Pumpkin will be your best friend when she gets older. You two are already so close, your bond is only going to grow stronger as she ages!
