Meeting "The King"

Allison loves to watch those old car shows on t.v. with her pop (grandpa), so it really wasn't much of a surprise when she asked if she could attend a car show with one of her friends. What did surprise us was her giddiness when she came home from the show because she got to meet "Elvis!"

She went on and on for days about meeting Elvis, talking about his performance, his jokes, and the fact that he gave her and her friend one of his famous scarves:

Personally autographed just for her, it's a souvenir she will treasure for quite some time. If an Elvis impersonator can cause that much excitement in a 10 year old girl, I can only imagine the flames the real Elvis sparked in girls back in the day!

Have you ever met an Elvis impersonator?

  3. That's funny, lol!! I told my youngest not long ago, 'Listen, that's Elvis!' when I heard it on a public radio. He said to me, 'Who's Elvis?' lolol

Hubby and I had our picture taken with Elvis in Vegas once. ;)

  4. That's a very tall Elvis. I'm glad he stole Allison's heart.

I'm not really into Elvis. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been a crazed fan.

By the way, I love your story about the horse named Hooter. Bad luck on your part. Smiles.
    Be well, Theresa.

  7. Elvis is still alive and well and living in the hearts and souls of many of his fans! I was not a crazed fan but I did love his music (not so much the movies!) This impersonator really does look quite a bit like the real deal-and it was very nice that your daughter got a souvenir!

  15. How fun for Allison to meet "Elvis". About 16 years ago, a friend of ours used to sing in a band and in one of his segments, he would come out dressed as Elvis.
