What An Honor!

Back in September I talked about my daughter's quest to raise the most money for her school trip to Washington. The deal was, the top 4 earners would have the honor of hanging a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Easter Sunday. Mariah ended up raising $1,000 and was the top earner out of all the students. While I may have been disappointed we spent our first Easter without her and my husband, the pride I have for her accomplishment, and the honor of hanging the wreath, way more than makes up for it.

Neutrogena Cosmetics Review

I love make up! LOVE IT! If there is one thing I spend too much money on, it's cosmetics! I love getting crafty and creative, and using cosmetics is one way I can do that on a daily basis. It's an art form in itself. The more I use it, the more I find that not all cosmetics are created equal. There are so many brands that cake, flake, smudge, or clump. Determining what is good and what is not is pretty difficult sometimes. Just because a brand is expensive does not mean it is going to perform better than the cheaper brands. But, the cheaper brands can be hit or miss on their performance. That's why I want to tell you about Neutrogena Cosmetics.

Since I am a member of Bzzagent, I was sent some samples of Neutrogena cosmetics to test out. I recieved Healthy Lengths Mascara, Crease Proof Eye Shadows, and MoistureSmooth Color Sticks.

My Review:

Healthy Lengths Mascara:

The first thing I noticed was the packaging. I love how the brush is not in the tube and I can see the brush bristles before I even purchase the product. The mascara itself was easy to apply. It smoothed over my lashes effortlessly, with no clumping, and stayed put all day long. After applying 2 coats, my lashes were lush and full. There was no flaking under my eyes at the end of the day. The only thing I do not like about this mascara is it is not available in waterproof. (If it is, I have not been able to find it at my stores.) It is formulated with Vitamin E and olive oil to help condition and lengthen lashes over time. It has a retail price of $8.99.

Crease Proof Eye Shadow:

Lasting Taupe (left) and Constant Copper (right)

I was sent Lasting Taupe and Constant Copper. The color sticks glided very easily over my lids. I like how these are more of a cream shadow. Powder shadows tend to flake to my under eye area throughout the day, leaving me with raccoon eyes. This did not happen with the crease proof shadow. It stayed in place all day long with no smudging. It is very true to its name also. After a full day of wearing it, there were no shadow creases on my lids! I loved the colors. However, even though they look dark in the tubes, they did not appear dark on my lids. I would like them to show just a bit darker. The Constant Copper makes a fabulous brow highlighter, and I have been using the Lasting Taupe as a base for my other shadows. There are a total of 6 shades that the Crease Proof Shadows are available in, and they retail for $7.99 each.

MoistureSmooth Color Sticks

Moisture Smooth Color Stick, lipstick, sweet watermelon, moisturesmooth, review,

These Color Sticks are made with shea butter to help condition lips. They are easy to apply, and since they have a twist up package, no sharpener is needed. I was sent Sweet Watermelon to test. Honestly, I hated it. While I did like that it felt good on my lips, I could not get past the scent or flavor. It had a plasticy scent and taste. I was also not a fan of the color. I felt like the crazy roommate lady from There's Something About Mary. The one who hasn't a clue how to apply makeup and ends of looking like an over made up fool. Fortunately, the MoistureSmooth Color Sticks come in 8 shades, so there are still 7 other varieties that have the chance to win me over. These retail for $8.99 each.

Overall, I am very pleased with the results I received from Neutrogena cosmetics. I like that they are all very easy to apply, have lasting power, and the price point fits any budget. I will definitely continue to purchase Neutrogena products in the future.
