Zeenie Dollz Review

I like to think that with each passing day, more and more people are making an effort the be environmentally responsible. When I was a school girl, we did a brief class on reduce, reuse, recycle each year around Earth Day. We would color a few pictures and chat about how to keep the earth clean, but at the end of the day when we went home, didn't give much more thought about the lesson. We just went about the rest of our day playing with our friends, or solo at home with our toys, burning off the stress of the day. While we have made such great strides with teaching the new generation of children the importance of taking care of our planet, there is always room for improvement. When i learned about taking care of the planet in school, I felt it was just another school lesson. Boring! But what if there was a way to teach kids the importance of keeping our planet clean while they are having fun? New Zeenie dollz are doing just that!

Hansini and Laxmi, a mother and daughter team, cam up with the concept of Zeenie dollz when Hasini drew picture of a blue haired girl and called her Mother Earth. Hasini and Laxmi, always lovers of animals and nature, decided to run with the idea of turning The Mother Earth drawing into a doll. Thus, Zeenie dollz were born. Created for young girls and eco-conscious parents, the dolls are fashionistas, donning the latest in groundbreaking style, but Zeenie Dollz stand for much more. Each doll also brings to light an environmental cause that needs attention, bringing together education and green ideals for young girls.

Zeenie dollz were not only designed to be like the beautiful dolls with great fashion sense that are currently available. While they do embody beauty and fashion, they also help to save the environment and animals, while teaching girls the importance of saving Earth. There are 6 dolls in the line, each one dedicated to an environmental issue.

Evee, Protector of the Skies and Defender against Pollution
Kazumi, Protector of the Polar Regions and Defender against Global Warming
Lina, Protector of the Rainforest and Defender against Deforestation
Sini, Protector of Farmland and Defender of Mistreated and Abused Animals
Yana, Protector of the Oceans and Defender of Marine Conservation
Zennia, Protector of the entire Earth (also known as Mother Earth)

My daughter recently received a Kazumi doll for review. She was immediately smitten with the doll, admiring her long, dark hair, as well as her large blue eyes. Her face was very detailed, with beautiful makeup accenting her eyes. The only complaint is one of her eyes was a little off center, and since it's stuck in there pretty good, I couldn't get it to line up right. My daughter is really into fashion, and absolutely loved Kazumi’s entire outfit! She comes wearing an artic animal sweater, a vest, pink leggings and earmuffs, earrings, and boots. Included was a bracelet for the child, a hair brush for the doll, a membership card, and the doll's little pet- a tiny polar bear! Each of the Zeenie Dollz has her own pet that coincides with her environmental cause.

What was really great about the doll is the 12 ball joints the doll has. My daughter likes to pose her dolls in many different positions, and gets frustrated when she is trying to get her doll to move or bend a certain way and can’t. The Zeenie Dollz are able to move in the exact way a real girl would, which makes play more enjoyable for little girls.

Zeenie Dollz are well crafted and are very durable, so they are able to withstand rough play. Keeping up with the message of being environmentally responsible, each doll is made with recyclable material, non toxic material. The packaging also follows suit with the sustainable message; the shipping cylinder is made of a biodegradable plastic.

You can visit Zeenie Dollz website to read character bio’s, play fun games, send messages, get free stuff, shop for cool products, and more!

Each Zeenie doll is available to purchase on the website for $39.99, and will also be available to purchase soon in stores near you. A portion of each doll sold will be donated to organizations working to preserve the environment and protect all animals and the places they call home. Because "Saving the planet... that's our style!"

  5. I sometimes wish I had girls to give dolls to. The closest we've gotten to dolls is stuffed animals, Fisher Price Little People (when they were younger) and Transformers.
