The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel Review

Physical fitness is a big part of my life. I make it a point to exercise every day, even if I only have 15 minutes to squeeze in a quick work out. We joined our local community fitness center in February, and I have made it a point to make sure we work out as a family regularly. I feel that if I lead by example, my children will also gain an interest in keeping fit and healthy. We take family Zumba classes in the evenings, and some weeks we add in swimming. I have enjoyed most of the fitness classes we have taken as a family, so I decided to start going to some of the morning adult classes while my girls are at school. I am going to admit, I am not crazy about yoga. I am more of a cardio and Pilates kind of girl. However, I have started taking the Pilates Barre classes which is a mixture of Pilates and Yoga, and I am having a great time doing those exercises! The one thing that has been bothering me though, is the mats the gym offers. Sometimes I decide to just drop into a class on a whim, forgetting to take my own yoga mat with me. While the gym mats are comfortable, I don’t think they are very sanitary. I have never seen anyone clean or sanitize them after use. Who wants to lay on a mat that was previously soaked in someone else’s sweat? Yuck!

Thankfully I don’t have to worry about that any more. The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel has been my newest workout accessory! It is a lightweight yoga towel that you lay over your yoga mat. Designed to prevent slipping in a hot yoga class, it will help stabilize your practice, soak up sweat, and best of all, creates a hygienic layer between you and your mat.

The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel measures in at 26.5” wide x 72” long, so it will cover your mat perfectly. The material is super soft, made of Micro-fiber: 80% Polyester/20% Nylon, and weighs in at about 350 grams per towel. I think it is the perfect size and weight to fold up and keep stored in my gym bag at all times, and especially for those days I just drop in to a Pilates class and don’t have my mat with me. The performance of the towel is superb! It doesn’t shuffle, bunch, or move at all during my exercises. When working out on just a mat, it gets slippery when you sweat, and since this towel soaks up the sweat with ease, you can focus on your exercises instead of where you are sliding to! I love the dark gray color. It hides dirt and sweat rings very well. I have washed it several times, and it still looks and feels great! No shrinking or color fading! I will definitely continue to use this towel at the gym and at home for all of my workouts.

The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel is available for purchase at Amazon for $29.95 plus shipping. If you are not satisfied with your mat for any reason, there is a hassle free, money back guarantee for 30 days after your purchase, so you can purchase the towel risk free.

Even Adrian can't resist doing a downward dog pose on the Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I'm not a yoga person (honestly I've never even tried it), but this would totally work for the body sculpt class that I do. We do half of the class with weights standing up and the other half is floor work.

  2. Great form Theresa! I do Yoga daily and a good yoga towel is a MUST. They keep you not only from slipping but also help when you are sweating. I work up such a sweat that without a towel, I would be soaked.

  6. I love your house Theresa! It's out of topic ha ha but can't resist the refreshing aqua color on the background and I am a rug addict, I really love your rug too. The color is so subtle and soothing. Now that you're doing yoga, it becomes the perfect combination :)

    1. LOL Rina, Thank You! Sometimes I think I would like to change the color, but it took me 8 straight days to paint my living/dining room area. Never again!

  8. I don't do any type of exercise-I know I should--but well---- However, my Mom who is turning 91 in 2 days still does!! This would be a great gift for her!

  9. That makes good sense to use something that would absorb sweat. My daughter is a huge yoga person so I think she'd really enjoy this alternative to her traditional yoga mat.

  12. That is a lot smarter than my mat. Mine has the towel like top that I loved when I got it, but how in the world do you wash it - outside with a hose maybe. I want one of these and I can use my older cheaper mat.

  14. Every time I go to yoga I have a problem with slipping. I always say that I'm going to buy some of the anti-slip gloves and socks, but I've yet to do so. I really like the idea of this product and will be giving it some serious thought for purchase. :-)

  21. I need to be like you! I want to get exercise into my routine but there always seems to be a reason I can use to get out of it. I purchased a pilates DVD recently and have used it once *sigh* I do need to get a towel like this. Maybe spending the money will spur me on? LOL

  22. What a good share. My sister is a yoga fiend and would love this although her cat would probably be curled up on the mat instead of letting her practice.

  23. Although I've never done yoga, I have a lot of colleagues who do and they have discussed the importance of having yoga materials to make the experience more rewarding. This towel looks like it is perfect for doing yoga at home.
