Theresa's Mixed Nuts: It's Coming!

It's Coming!

Some of you have been around long enough to know that Halloween is my thing. There is just something about that day that is so magical for me. The candy, the decorations, the candy, the dressing up, and did I mention the candy? Halloween items are starting to pop into stores now, which really excites me! It lets me know Halloween is coming soon!

I was over at Pat's the other day, and he was rambling on about holiday displays popping up already, it's too early for that, bla bla bla. So, he may have been going on about the Christmas displays, which thankfully I haven't seen yet, but I am going to admit that as soon as August hits, I start scoping out the stores for the Halloween displays. Is August too early to start getting excited about it? I think not! I believe that Pat even compared these holiday displays as "Worse than a leg humping Rover." So with that said, I would like to share with you my first Halloween purchase of 2013:

statue, halloween, menards

Yep, that's a "leg humping Rover" Halloween Dog that I bought from Menard's 2 weeks ago. I think Pat can stick that in his pipe and smoke it :)

Have you seen the Halloween displays up yet? Do you get excited to see the decorations each year, or are you just "ehh" on the holiday?

  1. Halloween is my thing, too. It's my favorite holiday and I'm beside myself with happiness that no one else seems to understand that we're doing the Halloween party in Disney when we go next month.

    1. Can I tell you how super jealous I am Robin? Not only about you going to Disney, but at Halloween? We did the Christmas experience, but now really want to go back for the Halloween one, which we are hoping to make it to next year. I hope you take lots and lots of pictures so I know what to look forward to!

    1. Rude? Rude is when one kills you off in a post, which I certainly didn't do lol. Nope, no bones for that pup. I think he has plenty of his own to chose from.

    1. I agree! My oldest has decided she is too old for that kind of stuff. Thankfully I still have a few years left with my 9 year old before the dress up is done for good here.

  10. Oh seriously? the scarf still looks purple on IG? hmmmmm, that is one reason I put it on there so the color would be true. It is a dark hot pink to my little eyes anyway. Ya, I say foooey to the dang no white after Labor Day, I plan on wearing my white pencil skirt (my fav white thing) all year in my posts and to events, too; church, social and community events. Have you noticed I never wear a blazer? I can't! They BUG the heck out of me!!! But I wear jackets! So my skirt will be paired up with something gorgeous and away we go.

HALLOWEEN IS FUN! But it hasn't always. My sweet Dad died the next day after Halloween and I was goofing off on Halloween and didn't realize he was as bad off as he was. So for about 10 years I couldn't do Halloween, but I have done it since we have lived here at this home for two years now. My old home was not in a good place for Trick or Treat-ers (busy road) But this town, doesn't do Trick or Treat. The Schools host a party and have no school that day! Cool huh, and of course, TRUNK OR TREAT is WONDERFUL!!!! I am so excited for this one. We are going to decorate our car like a Shark and then we are going to be deep sea divers! hahahahahaha.

  14. The days are certainly moving along Theresa! Halloween is just around the corner. It is not celebrated in a big way here but there are some parties etc. I know a lot about Halloween because I have relatives and friends in the U.S.A. and since I started blogging I have also learnt so much more from blogs. Your first Halloween purchase is cute!:)

  15. I haven't really been shopping lately so I haven't seen the decorations. However, like you, I'm a big fan of Halloween and I'm super excited about it.
