Ozeri WeightMaster Digital Bathroom Scale Review

Where is this year going? It seems to be flying by, doesn’t it? Did anyone make any New Year’s Resolutions way back in January? I normally never do, but this year I did. Actually, my whole family made a resolution to start eating healthier and to start exercising more. In February we heard about a great special going on for new members at our local community center, so we took the plunge and signed up for a family membership. My daughter likes to say that resolutions are meant to be broken, but I am proud to admit that we are still going strong with our work outs, making sure we hit the gym at least 3 days a week. We never started our membership with intentions of trying to lose weight. It was supposed to be a place where we could take the kids and have fun together as family. However, at the beginning of summer I noticed my clothes were fitting a bit more snugly than they did last year. I decided it was time to focus not only on having fun with my family at the gym, but to kick my workouts up a notch to try to shed a few extra pounds. I figured the first step would be investing in a bathroom scale. I have lived with my husband for over 15 years and we have never owned a scale. Can you believe that!? So I set off to Target and purchased the first scale that I thought wouldn’t look hideous in my bathroom. Big mistake! I stupidly assumed that all scales were made equal, which I quickly learned is NOT the case! Since I’ve never really owned a scale I haven’t made it a habit of weighing myself regularly. I just jump on the scale every few days to see where my current weight is and call it a day. Some days I would feel quite discouraged knowing I was doing everything right, but the pounds seemed to be down one day, then a few days later be higher than when I started my weight loss journey. While my current scale has a sleek look I was going for, it does not accurately read my weight. Giving the scale several test runs determined that my scale would be off as much as 5 pounds. That’s a pretty big difference, and not very encouraging when you are trying to lose weight!

I recently had an opportunity to test out the Ozeri WeightMaster Digital Bathroom Scale, with MICROBAN® Antimicrobial Product Protection.

From Ozari:
Ozeri, a specialty manufacturer of digital lifestyle products, is proud to be the first manufacturer of bath scales to champion Microban® antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria. Infused at the point of manufacturing, Microban® antimicrobial protection works for the lifetime of the product to disrupt the growth of bacteria and helps maintain surface cleanliness. On an unprotected bathroom scale surface, bacteria can double in number every twenty minutes with frequent skin contact and exposure to moisture, which is often the case with typical bath scale usage. And only when they've multiplied to hundreds of thousands, can the bacteria be seen by the naked eye. With Ozeri WeightMaster Bath Scale, Microban® protection begins to work immediately, disrupting key bacterial cell functions so that the bacteria are unable to grow or reproduce on the surface. The WeightMaster Bath Scale by Ozeri is the first bathroom scale to combine an elegant design, Microban's antimicrobial solution and advanced weight measurement technology. The Ozeri WeightMaster uses 4 of the latest generation G sensors to accurately capture weights in increments of 0.2 pounds or 0.1 kilograms.

When I first received the scale I was impressed with the design. It wasn’t big or bulky, and it didn’t weigh a ton. I liked that it was black, so I knew it was going to fit in with my bathroom d├ęcor. But putting looks aside, I knew the real test was going to be weight accuracy. I did several test runs stepping on the scale, all resulting in the exact same weight measurement. I did move it to another room and did another test and was shocked that it said I weighed 4 pounds more than the first readings in the first room! After reading the instruction booklet, it was explained that when you move your scale from room to room it will recalibrate itself, and the first time you step on it after it has been moved, it will show an inaccurate measurement. Just step back on again and your weight result will be true then.

What I like about the Ozeri WeightMaster Scale:

- The large, blue backlit LED screen. The numbers were large and easy to read, and the blue back light makes it easy to see even in dim lighting.

- No waiting for the scale to turn on. Just step on and within seconds you have your weight.

- Auto Shut Off. 10 seconds after your weight is registered, the scale automatically shuts off, thus preserving the life of the scale as well as battery life.

- The smooth surface. It is not uncomfortable to step on, and it is easy to clean since there are no grooves or ridges that trap dirt or moisture.

- The Microban technology. Leaving a scale out in a bathroom where surfaces are in contact with warm moisture regularly is breeding grounds for bacteria. And since feet already harbor so much bacteria, adding to the mix on a scale surface is just yuck! I can totally get behind a scale that doesn’t promote the growth of bacteria on my bathroom scale.

- It has an up to date, modern look that fits well with any bathroom design. It’s not bulky and doesn’t take up too much room, so it would work well even in small bathrooms.

If you are in the market for a new scale, I would definitely recommend the Ozeri WeightMaster Digital Bathroom Scale with MICROBAN® Antimicrobial Product Protection. With 4 stars and 178 reviews on Amazon, you know you are getting a great scale! I wish I would have read the reviews there before buying my first scale! You can purchase your scale on www.Amazon.com for $28.95. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, the scale does come with a full warranty. Ozeri has excellent customer service too! They would be more than happy to help resolve any issues you might have with your scale.

  3. This one looks nice. I like digital scales because they're nicer to me (showing that I weigh less) than non-digital scales.

Congratulations on sticking to a regular workout routine, Theresa.

  8. They have such nice scales! We have a different Ozeri scale then that one, but we LOVE it, so I can see why you like this one so much :) They're so accurate and sleek. I love that they're not bulky and fit in well with most decors.

  11. That is a great scale Theresa! This is another reminder that I need a new scale.I have had one for ages and it is still working as when I went to the doctor yesterday it gave the same reading. However it has had to be fixed before. I must look out for a scale like the one you have reviewed. Enjoy the rest of your day.

  15. Well that is all interesting and thanks for the recommendations. I like the scale I have. But like you I didn't own one for many years. In 1999 a lost a bunch of weight and I would only weigh myself once a month at a clinic near my house. I would walk in and ask if I could just check my weight? Yes, that what I did, and they let me. That little scale was my friend! I lost 70 lbs on that puppie! LOL

Thanks for your nice words of liking my changes. I am excited. and ...yes, I am always having to 'change things up'. I live up to my name: Renae = reborn, change, and renewing. Now, ain't that inderesttin'?

  16. I like that it is small too. We have a big one, with the old fashion painted numbers, but it is supposed to be super accurate. I can't wait to upgrade.
