Notre Dame Visit

A few weeks ago we decided to walk the Notre Dame campus. I have lived close to Notre Dame almost my whole life, but have never really just walked around and enjoyed the scenery. Of course we have been to many of their facilities over the years for various events and functions, but never took the time to just explore the campus at our own leisure.

I drive by the Golden Dome almost daily, and it never gets old seeing it in person.

We decided to walk along the running trails, and I was very surprised at how peaceful it was there. We came across various religious statues buried in nooks and crannies. It was neat to stumble upon them.

Our goal was to head to The Grotto, and we had to stop and ask a few people for directions. Mariah happened to make a little friend on the way. This little guy was not shy at all!

We did eventually make it to The Grotto, but weren't able to stay for very long. That's when the sky turned black and we got stuck in a heavy down pour.

We definitely want to go back and explore some since our visit was cut short. It's such a beautiful campus!

Have you been to Notre Dame?

    1. I bet it does Rosey! You should hear the smack talk around town when Notre Dame plays Michigan. It gets pretty heated around here lol.

  3. Yes, I have been to Notre Dame a couple of times. It is a beautiful campus. My husband and son go to a least one football game each fall. My husband used to work at the football games several years ago. He is very attached to the school.

    1. It really is a gorgeous campus! Very serene! How cool your husband worked the games. My uncle ushers for the football games every year and has done so for as far back as I can remember. Maybe he's crossed paths with your husband?

  5. It looks like a beautiful campus. I've only seen the team play on tv at football games, so all I've seen is the stadium. It's nice to actually see the campus.
