Megan & Liz Concert

I've finally hit that stage of parenting where I've fallen out of the loop of what's cool and trending nowadays. It comes as a real shock when you have no idea what your kids are talking about. Just last week:

Kids- "Mom, can we go see Megan and Liz?"
Me- "Who are Megan and Liz? Where do they live? Have I met their parents?"
Kids- "What are you talking about!?"

Turns out Meg and Liz are some up and coming singers that hail from our area. They came out to put on a free concert at one of the local events last week. I had no idea who they were, and thus begins my decent into the pit of parents who just don't understand.

Don't mind the messy hair. We just got out of Zumba and it was raining!

Here is a video of one of their more popular songs. Once I heard the girls playing it, I did recognize it from the radio. I don't know if they play it as much elsewhere or a lot here because this is where the girls are from though. I believe they are currently on the Macy's American Rag Tour and will continue with that throughout the summer.

Reason 4,562 why I love my husband- he's the one who took the girls to the concert. When he called for me to come pick him up I asked how it was. "Please bring a large bottle of aspirin and a bigger bottle of whiskey." Thanks babe for taking them! I don't have the tolerance for a bunch of preteen girls screaming and rambling in a language I can no longer comprehend :)

Have you heard of Megan and Liz?

  3. So funny! That is awesome that your husband took them. I went with a friend of mine last year to one direction and big time rush with our 8 year olds and man, I get the aspirin and whiskey comment. There's no sound on this earth that compares to that of screeching teenage girls. Nothing.

  6. I've never heard of them either. My daughter wanted to go see Rockapalooza, but her big brother's gone so I said no. Now I've inadvertently found a way to make her miss her bro. ;) hahaha

Glad your girls got to go see the singers they liked.

  7. I've never heard of them, but I try and steer clear of what's popular. Although I listen toe mainstream radio, while in the classroom.

  8. I've never heard of them either, but we listen almost exclusively to Christian music, or music from the 90's (or most often, Christian music from the 90s).
