Theresa's Mixed Nuts: St. Patricks Day Fail

St. Patricks Day Fail

Normally St. Patrick's Day is one of our favorite holidays. This year it was a bit of a disaster, so we are blaming it on our rogue leprechaun.

I couldn't find my corned beef I purchased a few days ago when I went to make dinner. Found it still sitting in my husband's trunk. So, no St. Patty's dinner for us.

We tweaked our leprechaun trap and were sure we were going to catch one this year. He ended up stealing all the gold, then turned the milk green. That was kind of cool. Allison thought she was drinking magical milk.

That is until she saw that he also peed in the toilet, turning it green too. I saw this on Pinterest and thought Allison would get a kick out of it. Stupidly not thinking that she would also think that he peed in the milk as well. This upset her thinking she drank leprechaun urine. To top it all off, he forgot to leave gold candy coins like he normally does.

It was definitely a St. Patrick's Day fail this year.

How did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year?

    1. Hope you didn't get pinched! My daughter informed us the night before that she had been perfecting her pinching skills, so we made sure we had green on!

  2. I NEVER would have connected the pee to the milk in a million years, but it's funny how kids minds work differently. I saw the pee thing on pinterest, too, but I never did it. I did such a big deal out of the Elf on the Shelf this year, but I just had no interest in going all out for the leprechaun this year.

    1. This is one of the last holiday's I think Allison will still believe in this sort of stuff. I tried going all out, but jamming too much in backfired this year!

  3. LOL, oh my gosh, it's not funny I know. But oh my gosh. lolol

I'm sorry for the fail. We didn't do anything special, just a normal day. I did make sure the youngest wore green so his sister couldn't pinch him. ;)

  4. That is so funny she thought he would think he peed in the milk. But I suppose at that age, that might be what I thought too.

As for the meat.... I have left things in our trunk before.... Been there done that.

  10. Oh no...there's always next year! I had done a post on all cool things a leprechaun might do, and you'd think I would have done one of them myself...nope. Although ours did leave some chocolate coins I had bought, and only remembered I had, because Autumn's friend called her up to tell her everything the leprechaun did at her house.

  11. Oh hahahaha. That wasn't a fail. That was hilarious. I haven't ever seen a Leprechaun leave tracks on a toilet. I am going to have to remember that one. Oh your post has been officially bookmarked. You always keep me smiling. (Im doing my homework, I'm doing my homework)

  13. LOL omg Theresa...I literally laughed out loud about Allison thinking he peed in the milk!! I can see how a kid would think that though. That sucks about your corned beef :( I've done that before by accident...not pleasant! lol

  15. I'm sorry it didn't quite go according to plan. That happens to us moms. South Africa doesn't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but I was wearing my only green shirt quite by accident when I found out later. That made me happy.

For some reason I hadn't been following you on GFC. I've now joined the list! Thanks for linking on my Picture Perfect Party Linky. I hope you link again at

  16. We don't do much for St Patrick's Day. We did all wear green, and we had corned beef and potatoes for dinner, but otherwise it was just a pretty regular Sunday. We went to church and then did some shopping. No leprechauns around here. :)
