Planning Your Mother's Day Gift List Early

Planning Your Mother's Day Gift List Early

We mothers love to receive gifts on Mother's Day, as it's the one day of the year when our kids and spouses do nice things for us without expecting anything in return. Being a mother and wife is one of the most rewarding jobs, but it's always nice to receive a special gift or surprise on Mother's Day. Do you know what you want for Mother's Day?

Things are Nice

There are lots of things that your family could give you, things that you'd definitely appreciate. A nice perfume will help you to feel attractive, and you'll find that a nice set of bath and body products will be the perfect addition to your personal hygiene products. Your husband may want to give you something sexy to dress in, or a beautiful, shimmering set of jewelry from FJB

A day at the spa would be a dream come true, or a girls' night out with your friends can help you to relax at the end of a long week of work, school, and home. Maybe some kitchen decorations will be a good gift, or why not a new set of bed sheets? Some clothes and shoes will always be appreciated by mothers, so they're a gift you may want to consider.

Actions Speak Loudly

Rather than just getting things from your family, wouldn't it be nice to see some actions to show you just how much you are loved? Perhaps your kids will want to offer to do the dishes for you at night in order to reduce your workload at the end of the day, or they'll make breakfast for you once a week. Maybe your husband will make a promise to help you more with the chores, or spend less time at the golf range or the bar with friends. You may want to make a family commitment to spend more time together, or else going on a vacation next year. You'll be amazed at how these actions will be just as meaningful as material gifts.

Getting the Right Gift from Your Family

This Mother's Day, give your family a chance to give you the right gift. It's hard for them to know what presents to give you on this special day, but you can make your Mother's Day list ahead of time to help them know what you want. Leave the list someplace that you know your husband will find it, but where it won't look like you're trying to drop hints. You can drop some verbal hints to your kids as they help you clean the house, or add it to your evening prayers. Giving your family these hints will make it easier for them to know what you want this Mother's Day, which will make the process of choosing the ideal gift for you a whole lot easier! Get what you want by letting them know surreptitiously.

  1. I always try to tell my Daughter and Grandkids not to get me anything for Mothers Day, Birthdays..etc. They never ever listen. They always seem to come up with some unique gift that is something I want and need.

  2. I love 'let's spoil mom' day. :) I love the gifts I get too, especially if they're homemade...but you're right, someone just offering to dishes would be supreme!

  3. I get what she wants and that is usually that, out of the house and far away, so not easy to do chores at her bay.

  4. I don't need a gift for Mother's Day...although a small something is always nice :) I'd prefer for everyone to take over my duties for the day without arguing etc.

  8. I always get my Mother exactly what she wants. I ask her what she wants, needs desires, giggle. She always picks something she needs, then I send her something I bought for her as well. Something that reminds me of her or that I know will be a surprise and make her smile. thank you for sharing your wonderful post at the Thursday Favorite Things hop xo

  9. I love it when my "men" all try to do chores for me because it's Mother's Day and then they make everything worse so I end up having to do it myself anyways LOL. I always try to get my mom a special gift, though. These days it's usually somehow related to the boys in some ways.

  10. Thanks for reminding me! My sister's and I usually take my mom out to dinner and shop around a little afterwards. If she likes something, we buy it for her.

  11. Since I live so far from my mom, I usually can't do anything with her around Mother's Day. I send her stuff that Elliott has made, pictures, and then usually something small that I've picked up for her (like a movie I know she wants to see). Then when I'm at her house over the summer, we take her out to eat wherever she wants, and to a movie if there is one playing she wants to see while we are there.

My husband usually buys me something that I want, and then takes Elliott shopping for something for me as well. My husband also cooks that day and does any cleaning that can't wait until the next day.
