Doll Finds In Target $1 Spot

I have always loved Target, but it was a happy, happy day when they put in the dollar spot section. I find myself at Target much more now, simply to browse the dollar items. On my latest Target shopping trip I found some cheap items that would make excellent props for my daughter's American Girl dolls.

I found this metal mailbox that I thought would be cute for the dolls if I dressed it up with a stand. I went to Michael's and bought the wood pieces, painted them up, and for less than $3, a new mailbox was created.

They also had these cute wooden buckets in assorted colors. I thought they would make great picnic baskets for the dolls!

And these lip balms in the shape of Pepsi and Mountain Dew are the perfect size for the doll hands, as are the food shaped erasers.

If your girls play with American Girl Dolls, then you know how expensive the accessories can be. You can save a lot of money buying accessories for the dolls in Target's dollar spot!

Have you found anything great in the dollar section lately?

  1. LOVE the dollar section at Target. I actually posted last week about it in my monthly reviews!!! And those mailboxes, I have a ton of them. Also got some cute mini pink buckets to hang on the wall in my office for pens and business cards :) Love that section, and I find myself going just to look through it sometimes :) totally_rachel

  2. Super cute :-) My fave finds at Target's dollar bins are books for my third grader. She is avid reader and I just can't keep up with her. One month I spent $80 on books alone. So I found these classics redone for ages 7 and up. I got 7 of them and she read them all within the month. That was by far my best find!

  8. I love, LOVE that dollar section at Target. Sometimes I go there JUST to see what they have because they are always putting out new stuff. I saw those mailboxes at my Target last week, but I didn't see the little Pepsi or Mountain Dew, so now I am totally heading to my Target this afternoon.

  9. If only I had one girl! :) I love my boys to! It's just that I have a cabinet of 4 or 5 American Girl dolls and no daughters to pass them down to!

    Your props look great!

I used to use our end tables as Barbie's apartment. There was more than one level for them to live in. My friend Debbie used colored paper punches for their food.
