Campus Book Rentals Review

I am pretty sure that most kids have headed back to school by now. I know mine have. Pretty soon I will be receiving my bill for their book fees. Each year it seems to go higher and higher. As soon as I open the bill, I tend to cringe. Then I have to remind myself that I am getting off pretty easy compared to what the college kids are paying for their books. About 10 years ago I managed a bookstore. People would come in to place orders for their college textbooks. My eyes would bulge at the prices they were paying! I could not believe they were paying well over $100 for a book to use for one class! Talk about sticker shock!

Did you know that you don’t have to pay full price for those textbooks? That’s right! Campus Book Rentals  provides you with a great alternative to purchasing expensive college textbooks. Campus Book Rentals offers you new and gently used textbooks to rent for around 1/2 the price you would normally pay purchasing the books from your school bookstore. It’s as simple as typing in the books title or ISBN number into the search box. Once you find your desired book, look to the right of the screen. There you will find the rental price for that particular title. You have the option to rent that book for the semester, quarter, summer, or you can choose your rental period length. They are very flexible on time rentals! Prices vary on how long you will be renting the book for. Add the book to your cart, and you are ready for check out. Before you place your order, they will tell you the exact date your rental is due back. Campus Book Rentals offers free shipping both ways when you chose the standard 7-14 day ship method. If you need your books sooner, it’s only $3.99 for the 5-8 day fast ship method.

Here is an example of how much money you can save by using Campus Book Rentals. I researched a psychology book called Introduction to Forensic Psychology : Research and Application by Bartol, Anne M. and Bartol, Curt R.

It costs just $28.63 to rent through Campus Book Rentals for a whole semester. I found the same book on Amazon for $69.87. That’s a savings of $41.24 just for renting the textbook from Campus Book Rentals!!

What’s nice about Campus Book Rentals is there are no membership fees, they offer you a 30 day risk free return on your rentals, and you get live customer support!

What if you have already bought your college textbooks, taken your courses, and now you are stuck with books you no longer have a use for? Campus Book Rentals will buy your used textbooks. You just type in your ISBN number and you will get an instant cash quote along with a free shipping label. Payment is usually sent out 2 days after receipt of your textbooks. I’d say that’s a great way to recoup some of the cash spent on textbooks and is environmentally friendly!

You should also know that a portion of each textbook rental goes towards Operation Smile. Campus Book Rentals has partnered with Operation Smile, and this year alone, they will be donating over 1,000 life saving cleft lip surgeries to children in need. So not only will you be saving money on your textbooks, you will also be helping to support such a wonderful charity. Now that is something to smile about!

  1. This is GREAT! I cringe when I think of the money I spent in University on textbooks...and although I still have those textbooks, have I even looked at them once since then? Most of! I really could have done with just renting most of them. Such a great idea!!

    1. If you aren't using those books and don't plan to, be sure to check out how much money you call sell them for on Campus Book Rentals site!

  5. Gosh I remember what I paid for books back in college, crazy! I'd have loved something like this back then. You're lucky to have found this!

  6. Tee hee, love that video!! She is so funny!! And, I'll share this post with my sister, since she's the one in college! Thanks!

  7. Awesome idea! I spent a fortune on textbooks. The thing was that there were very few books that we could even buy second hand because accounting and tax rules changes pretty much every year so the text books were out of date almost as soon as they were published!

  8. My husband was just faced with this dilemma of whether to rent or buy...he ended up buying this time, but I suspect after seeing the price tag of books so up close and personal, he'll rent next time. He paid close to $200 fpr two texts and could have rented for a 1/4 of the price. This was a great post to put up, and good timing too w/school starting back up.

  9. wish I knew about this a few years ago! ;)

  10. I wish i knew about this site when i was still in school

  11. That is one thing about college I don't miss - expensive books! I don't think they were around back when I was in college, but seems perfect for college kids!

  12. Whoever thought of book rentals was a genius. The price of books is outrageous.
