Weekend Roundup~ Kind Of Glad It’s Over!

Was it just me, or did this weekend seem never ending? Maybe it’s because the kids got out of school on Thursday it just seemed extra long. I guess we are still in that adjusting period where our daily routines will be switched up for the summer, it is causing their moods to be all over the place. Mine too!

On Friday I needed to go to the store. I waited until Jason got home so he could drive me. As we were getting ready to get back in the car, he noticed some damage on the front side panel of his car. Someone hit it and left! We had to file a police report, and as the officer was writing it up, another couple came out and said, “Hey, we saw it happen! He actually pulled in, hit the car, got out and looked at the damage, then went and parked 3 spaces down.” Sure enough, the car was there with our paint still on his car, so at least it will be an easy process getting it filed with his insurance since we didn’t have to resort to security camera footage of the accident. I can’t believe one would just knowingly hit a car and leave! What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? What a cowardly thing to do! Now, not only is he still going to be responsible for fixing the car, he got charged with hit and run. Brilliant!

Saturday we took the dogs to the dog part of the beach. Here you are supposed to have your dogs leashed and under control. Someone let their dog roam free and it charged my dogs. Let me tell you, it’s not fun trying to rip 2 very strong boxers off another dog while their owner just stands there screaming “What the hell?” Look people, your dogs may do well off a leash at your own home or neighborhood, but when you put them in a setting where there are a lot of other dogs, there is a good chance their attitude will change pretty quick. Do us all a favor and follow the rules. They are put in place for your dogs safety as well as mine. On that note, what is it about dogs just not liking other dogs? I have never looked at someone and said “Oh, look, another human. I think I’ll go kick their butt!” LOL. Why do dogs think it’s acceptable to charge another dog simply because it’s a dog?

But wait! It wasn’t all bad. Yard sales were in full swing and I hit the mother load on good stuff. I ended up having to get more money twice, I was on a roll! I got a big shopping back of clothes for myself for $20, Thomas the Tank Engine die cast toys, new in pack for $1.50 each, but about peed my pants when I got an almost brand new sewing machine for $10! If you remember my Husband vs. Pinterest post, you’ll know why this excites me so. So, it’s not the most fantastic machine, but it was hardly used, and if I were to buy it here on Amazon, it would have cost $62.45. Take that hubby! Score one for Pinterest!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Madagascar 3 came out, but we won’t be going until next weekend. If you saw it, what did you think?

    1. I hate it when that happens! I delete crap off here all the time accidentally. I'm not the best blogger lol.

Don't worry, I'll be swinging by and leaving more comments here shortly :) I've been falling behind since last week was super busy for us. I feel like I've missed so much!

  2. It never ceases to amaze Phill and I the amount of people who don't respect other people's property. That's why we park out in the boonies in parking lots, and yet, there's still people who slam their door into our car. Hit and run? Geez...that's ridiculous! Glad you found out who though :)

HOLY MOLY score!! $10 sewing machine? Wowzers! That's awesome and like you said, you can rub that in your Jason's face LOL ;) And I hear ya about dogs...I know it's all about being dominant, but come on, they can own everything, everywhere they go! LOL...silly dogs...yours are soooo cute :)

Haven't seen Madagascar yet...but can't wait! Hope it's not all "hyped" up. Usually if the critics are obsessed with it, it sucks hehe. Let's hope this isn't the case ;)

    1. I worry that it won't be that great either. They usually start going downhill after the first. We loved Shrek, but by the 4th one, we were falling asleep. Don't even get me started on Puss In Boots!

I also think critics don't know what a good movie is. I usually hate the ones they praise. Also, if there are a lot of big names in a movie. Jason will say, "Who's in it?" I'll ramble off all the big names and he'll go- "Oh, so it's going to suck" lol. One or 2 big names are fine, but when you go past that, it's a good bet the movie won't be great.

  8. That is terrible! Once when my kids were really little I parked at the store, got out, and my sons car door bumped into the cars next to us. There was an older man sitting in it who stormed out of his car, and proceeded to scream at us. We were so scared we ran into the store. When we came out he was gone, but he had keyed the entire side of my car.

Now that sewing machine deal ROCKS!!!! Can't wait to see what new projects you'll come up with :))

    1. Oh my, what a jerk! I understand accidents happen. No need to be that way, especially to a kid! I can't believe he'd key your car too :( That makes me sad that there are those kind of people out there!
