Was it just me, or did this weekend seem never ending? Maybe it’s because the kids got out of school on Thursday it just seemed extra long. I guess we are still in that adjusting period where our daily routines will be switched up for the summer, it is causing their moods to be all over the place. Mine too!
On Friday I needed to go to the store. I waited until Jason got home so he could drive me. As we were getting ready to get back in the car, he noticed some damage on the front side panel of his car. Someone hit it and left! We had to file a police report, and as the officer was writing it up, another couple came out and said, “Hey, we saw it happen! He actually pulled in, hit the car, got out and looked at the damage, then went and parked 3 spaces down.” Sure enough, the car was there with our paint still on his car, so at least it will be an easy process getting it filed with his insurance since we didn’t have to resort to security camera footage of the accident. I can’t believe one would just knowingly hit a car and leave! What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? What a cowardly thing to do! Now, not only is he still going to be responsible for fixing the car, he got charged with hit and run. Brilliant!
Saturday we took the dogs to the dog part of the beach. Here you are supposed to have your dogs leashed and under control. Someone let their dog roam free and it charged my dogs. Let me tell you, it’s not fun trying to rip 2 very strong boxers off another dog while their owner just stands there screaming “What the hell?” Look people, your dogs may do well off a leash at your own home or neighborhood, but when you put them in a setting where there are a lot of other dogs, there is a good chance their attitude will change pretty quick. Do us all a favor and follow the rules. They are put in place for your dogs safety as well as mine. On that note, what is it about dogs just not liking other dogs? I have never looked at someone and said “Oh, look, another human. I think I’ll go kick their butt!” LOL. Why do dogs think it’s acceptable to charge another dog simply because it’s a dog?
But wait! It wasn’t all bad. Yard sales were in full swing and I hit the mother load on good stuff. I ended up having to get more money twice, I was on a roll! I got a big shopping back of clothes for myself for $20, Thomas the Tank Engine die cast toys, new in pack for $1.50 each, but about peed my pants when I got an almost brand new sewing machine for $10! If you remember my Husband vs. Pinterest post, you’ll know why this excites me so. So, it’s not the most fantastic machine, but it was hardly used, and if I were to buy it here on Amazon, it would have cost $62.45. Take that hubby! Score one for Pinterest!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Madagascar 3 came out, but we won’t be going until next weekend. If you saw it, what did you think?
