Neutrogena Cosmetics Review

Thanks to Bzzagent, I recently had the opportunity to review a few Neutrogena cosmetics. I was really excited to try them out because I have been a fan of their facial washes and lotions for years, but have never tried anything from their cosmetics line before.

Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner - This eye liner was easy to apply. It went on smooth without too much pressure. I like that it has a built in sharpener, as well as a smudger, so I can create a smokey eye if I want. It did seem to wear well, but after a few hours I did have to do a little touch up to darken it back up a bit. This eye liner comes in 4 different shades: Cosmic Black, Brushed Pewter, Spiced Chocolate, and Twilight Blue, and retails for around $7.99 each.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector - This concealer was just ok. I have always had dark circles under my eyes and have yet to find a product that makes a noticeable difference on them, this product included. The Neutrogena does blend well without settling into fine lines or looking cakey. I also like that it has SPF 25. When shopping for an under eye concealed in the future, it will probably boil down to price for me. Not that the Neutrogena is a bad product, it is just comparable to most of the other types of products currently on the market, similar to this one. No better, no worse. It comes in 4 shades - Fair, Buff, Light, and Medium and retails for around $13.99 each.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm - I don't wear lipstick. It has never looked right on me and I find that it dries my lips out quick. I don't like the excess shine or sticky feeling of lip gloss either, so my lips are always bare. I figured I was not going to care much for this balm either. I was sent 3 shades to test, so I started with the lightest color I had, Petal Glow. I was really surprised that I liked how it looked on me. It added just a hint of color without lots of shine. It felt good on my lips, but the most impressive thing about this balm is the moisture it provided my lips. I pressed my lips together several hours after applying and it was still on, and my lips still felt very hydrated! Talk about a long wearing product! It has a nice scent and actually tastes pretty good too. Not that I recommend eating it though. It contains spf 25, which is great, because our lips need protection from the sun too. I love this product and feel I cant say enough good things about it!

Here are the colors I was sent, applied to my arm, so you get an idea of the color depth. From left to right : Petal Glow, Sunny Berry, and Healthy Blush.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm comes in 6 shades, the above mentioned, as well as Sheer Shimmer, Soft Caramel, and Fresh Plum, and retail for around $8.99 each.

  1. Have been looking for a good concealing and no luck here either. I've also been playing with lipsticks and that's pretty hit and miss. Will look for the lip balm.

  2. P.S. Am looking for a dark spot remover or concealer or whatever they may call it. The cover up just doesn't work for me. Am thinking none of them really work...

    1. I hear you! If you ever find that miracle product for dark circles, please let me know!

If you don't like dark color on your lips (like me. I just can't pull off deep shades) stick with the Neutrogena Petal Glow. It has just a hint of color on the lips and adds a lot of moisture to them as well.

  3. I've never tried their makeup yet either! Great review!! Out of all the makeup I will wear, I don't wear lipstick either. For the same reasons: dries my lips fast and I don't like the tacky feeling to be honest. I'm reviewing something right now that comes in a lipstick tube but is a moisturizer instead...clear and it's awesome!

Also, you know I always talk about how bad my dark circles are...and if you're looking for a great under eye cover up...trust me, I've tried them all but have used a never fail one for years!! Lancome Waterproof Undereye Concealer. Doesn't crease, is light, blends well. It's awesome and I've used it since I was a teenager :) If it can cover my dark circles, I'm sure it could cover anyones lol.

    1. Ooops, that last reply was for the poster above you lol. Sorry! I'll go fix that now :)

Thank you for the Lancome suggestion! I am going to have to try that out for sure! How long does it last? I see you said waterproof, so it must last a while?

    2. I only have to apply it once in the morning to last the day. If I'm sick or lack of sleep, sometimes I'll touch it up minimally later on in the day, but that's rare. It lasts until you wash it off basically :) It's the only concealer my aunt and I use for our chronic dark circles. It's pricier than others (almost $30), but 100% worth it. It's a liquid that comes in a tube.

    1. You must have a nice Dollar Store. I don't think ours carries many cosmetics. I've never seen concealer there. Lots of lip product though.

  5. I have tried Neutrogena concealer before, but as you said it wasn't so spectacular that I had to stay with their brand. Other than that I really just stick with other brands, not that I wear makeup a lot. I go through phases.

Awhile ago I applied to Bzzagent and never heard anything. I took that super long survey and everything :( I hope to hear something eventually cause I'd love to do reviews.

    Have a good night!

    1. What? I thought Bzzagent accepted everyone? Maybe it had issues or something processing and you might want to try signing up again. I think you would do a great job on anything you review. Your Friday Etsy finds already prove that you do your research and you have great taste :)
